I have a PCB for a Filco tenkeyless on the way from martinmeijerink which has a damaged cable. He's sending the PCB and the controller board as well as the damaged cable (I figure I can salvage that white bit). What I'd like to do, since I have to make my own case, is to mod this to be more like the Poker (I'm going to have it in my laptop bag and don't want the cable to be too easily damaged, so I'd like to be able to remove it. I have a ton of those mini-usb cables laying around from all the various phones I've had, so I won't have to worry about damaging the cables. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to mod this male-female cable onto the original cable connector.
I haven't cut open any USB cables before (never had a need to) so I'm unsure what to expect when I do... will this be fairly straightforward? Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks.
