How many of you play this ? (http://play.typeracer.com/)
I found it through some wasted time thread a few weeks ago , which is what I think eventually lead me here to Geekhack. Fun little game to get the competitive juices flowing.
Last night someone had topped out at around 178. ( which is faster than the guy that won the UTC sponsored by DAS )

The "guy that won the UTC sponsored by DAS" is #1 on their overall leader board, and I believe is/was a Geekhacker
Name: Sean Wrona (arenasnow)
Avg Speed: 189 wpm
Last 10: 237 wpm
Races: 430

Ahhh I didn't see the overall list , I was just seeing the recent list , and yeah that's the guy I was talking about. Although I don't think that was who hit 178 last night. Might have been as I just remembered the guys face , not name.

I only managed 79 wpm :( On my laptop. I will definitely have to try this out on my crappy keyboard at home later tonight and compare with my new filco keyboard coming in at the end of the week :D

Yeah I was doing it last night with my Fiance on my Saitek Eclipse v1. a week ago she said I didn't need a new keyboard and it was a waste of money... Last night after playing that game she started fussing about my crappy keyboard and almost bought me one. lol I tend to do better on it here at work on my Dell kb than on the Saitek. Either way I usually only average around 50 wpm. lol I make terribad typos and tend to want to look at my hands alot. So I just ordered an All black labeless WASD board.

I was thinking of getting an otaku keyboard simply to work on typing without looking at my hands here and there. My main concern was using symbols and punctuation which isn't as familiar to me. Therefore, I decided it'll be something I do for a second keyboard.

Get a set of engraved caps from WASD. All the benefits of "Otaku" with the ability to find a legend if you really need it. Highly recommended. All the 'boards I regularly type on now have engraved caps.

I forgot you can get those from OCN now. Those are a fine choice. Neither of my PBT Duckys have a shiny space bar.
