I'm not sure if this has been posted. I just wanted to inform others who are interested in some other keyboards besides the cherry mx blue.

It is actually cheaper to buy the cherry mx reds Leopold from elitekeyboards.

Right up until the very common Rosewill keyboards 15% off sale.
-
Glad these weren't available when I bought the RK-9000, or I might not have tried Blues. I love the keyboard, and the Blues.
-
Reds being more expensive is such a rip off. It's just a black stem with a brown spring, in a different color plastic. There's no reason for it to be more expensive.

You could argue the same thing about why tenkeyless boards cost more than full size. It's supply and demand, pure and simple. Imagine what a different place the world would be if there were no such thing as marketing departments.

Supply and demand...
-
I understand the demand part, but the supply part is where it breaks down for me. I don't see how reds could possibly be more "rare" than browns, blacks or blues.

or sometimes it is just a rip-off...

:nerd:
Really? I just bought some Browns stems with springs and some Red stems and I am about to buy a testing board with Blacks on them. Did I waste my money on the Reds? Guess I'll find out!

America no longer has a proper Filco distributor. Funny, that.

^ what he said! I don't care about the white color, but definitely clear switches.
Although if someone came out with an old school beige board with two color keycaps and clear switches I'd be on that like white on rice. (don't get your nosehairs in an uproar, ladies, that's just a figure of speech... although my ex was half Japanese so whatever...)
-
Agreed that we need moar clear switch boards. Especially tenkeyless.
-
Yeah, its been posted
-
If EK, Rosewill, or WASD wanted to differentiate themselves they should come out with some white keyboards and throw some clear switches in for good measure.
Deck doesn't really have the whole market to themselves; there are some of us who want clear switches but don't want to have/pay for the LED's.
Most likely you're not gonna buy Clears for gaming but more so typing so the Deck's Flat profile kills any reason to buy one from them.

I eat Brown rice so I'm not offended...but I'm not a girl.
Anyway as it's been said Ducky will have Clears next year. I bet WASD will get some too if they continue to sell well.

Sooooooo.... has anybody nabbed one of these new Rosewills? I'm curious about the quality of the Brown board, personally.
-
I've read a few reports in other threads, some of the boards are having issues with untrue key reports getting added when there are multiple keys pressed. Haven't heard on the RMAs yet, but others have reported no problems... No real 'first impression' posts other than receipt and functionality.
