Title: KBC Poker MX Browns
Post by: freethink on Mon, 03 October 2011, 17:05:28
Keyboard is in perfect condition, and has less than 30 minutes of use on it.  I just couldn't get into the key layout.  ABS keys. Original packaging, cable and instructions are included.  $95 shipped CONUS.

Totally understandable. GLWS.

Not to throw water on your sale, but 30 minutes is all you gave the layout?  I was pretty skeptical about it after getting mine, but after a couple of days I was used to it and now I love it.

I think I got a pretty decent idea of the layout during my limited use.  My main complaint is the tilde/ESC functionality.  I use ESC way too much to have to use a function key to access it.  I didn't like the ESC lock because I use tilde often as well, and don't want to have to turn the ESC lock off every time I need tilde.  If ESC lock just switched the ESC/tilde instead of getting rid of tilde I probably would've given it more time.

This was more of an impulse buy, and I love my TKL Filco & Leo at home and work, so I can't justify keeping this when I'm not crazy about the layout.

I believe that you can use tilde while in "ESC Lock" with a simple holding of the function key.  Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

You're wrong.  That makes way too much sense to be true. :)  I made a thread about the escape/tilde problem just the other day:

http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?22474-Linux-vim-and-the-Poker-s-escape-tilde-combination

What I ended up doing was remapping the Menu key to tilde and using escape mode.

Hmmm, I've been misled, I remember an early review of the keyboard that mentioned this very thing to be true.  He did have a pre-production model though, oh well.  I'm still going to buy one.

You know what, I'm not going to find one cheaper!

Hey freethink, good news, I want your board, PM on the way with my paypal info!
