Well, this staff sell for 99 dollar...
Still need that?
-
If i don't get it for cheaper I might have to come to you qtan, thank you for the heads up very much appreciated.
-
Okay...
-
Someone sell me a keyboard roof pretty please
-
99 dollars!
you can buy a leopold and use that as a roof instead.
GL finding one, i wish EK still sold them.
OT, but is that your pair of tiffanys?
they must have used the cheapest materials for those shoes, mine were creased to hell within a week.
-
Need me a keyboard roof!!!!!!
Those aren't my pair but I do have a pair, yeah they crease ;(
But I rotate my shoe lineup so they still fresh ;o
-
I'm feeling smart about buying tenkeyless roof and wooden palm rest with my anniversary edition 87U from iomania.
-
When I got my 87u anniversary edition from iomania they said they didn't have anymore keyboard roofs ;(
This makes me sad
-
Well, I haven't received it yet, so for all I know I could have wasted $39 on a standard-sized roof, not a tenkeyless. Plus, yellow keycaps are OOS everywhere, so I'm always sad.
-
I got mine already it's awesome ;3
Yeah 2 things I asked for, keyboard roof and yellow/blue keycaps lol neither was in stock ;<
-
If worse comes to worst, we could always take a band saw to a full-sized roof and MAKE a tenkeyless.
-
I'll take a 104 size for the time being better then having nothing right now on mine ;(
-
I still have the one I bought from EK. Used it for about 2-3 months. Had it for about 2 years. Since then its been in storage. Sold my Realforce 87U a while ago.
It's still in excellent condition. I can upload pictures, if you want.
Would need to ship it from Europe.
-
You got PM Hakhu ;)
-
I am interested in one of these as well, but $99 ouch!
-
Have you considered making one yourself? Materials like plexiglas and lexan can be had for next to nothing at most any hardware store. Specialty stores might even have some coloured plexiglas. All it takes is a bit of glue and a saw and you have yourself a keyboard roof. No offense to qtan but for $100 I'd rather buy a new keyboard.
-
^ $100 is definitely very high considering they usually go for $50 new i think but don't know how they price things over there
Hopefully Hakhu pulls thru and I can get my hands on his. I'm not really a hands on buy myself so nope haven't thought of making my own and probably won't go that route

Someone sell me a keyboard roof!!!!!

My 87u has dust all over it, SELL ME A ROOF!

-

Let me get one first!
-
Got my tenkeyless acrylic roof from iomania along with 55g anniversary edition 87U and wood palm rest. The acrylic on the roof doesn't have rounded edges like on my full-sized roof from EK, bummer.

how much was the roof? are there also full size ones? whats shipping to the sates?

I think they have both sizes, $39 a pop. Shipping was $50 combined with the keyboard. Contact kant1971.
-
How was the wood wrist rest, I was deciding that or the acrylic one
-
The wood palm rest is nice, they sent me the darker wood version that's shown next to the Filcos on the iomania page. The acrylic one seems to come only in the thick Filco variety, not in the thin Realforce one.
-
Could you link to where your looking at this stuff? wouldnt m,ind some links to the roofs and wrist rests.

http://www.iomania.co.kr/ + google translate
-
kk found the wrist rests the iomania wood looks nice but I didnt find a width in the specs at least one that I could discern. I think the plastic ones
http://tinyurl.com/6gtw6qs and http://tinyurl.com/6fn667g would be ok ones for portable use. I was hopeing to find ones for the HHKB also :( I currenly have a wood one that I made that serving its purpose with its many imperfections. I only found the fullsize keyboard cover though http://tinyurl.com/6ytt8br
they do have the realforce roofs in both sizs on leopold.co.kr as well as leopold in both sizes. whats the difference? they also have a leoppold wrist rest that looks exactly like a flicos.
-
I have this companies for my HHKB its really good quality. they now make for Topre tenkeyless (http://tinyurl.com/6kuj54r) and fullsize (http://tinyurl.com/6e639bu). That is what i want for sure!
-
Problem is that with an agent, fees and all that it comes to like $60 before shipping to you, after that it will be close to $80 i think, bird electron was the first I checked
-
That sucks. EK start carrying these like the HHKB roofs
-
help me repel the dust!
-
hmm want if we get a few people together and share shipping?
-
Erm that wouldn't be a bad idea, but if we have to go through an agent, the agent fee's will go up too because of the overall cost. Too bad no one has access to bird electron so we can by pass the agent fees

any way to contact they directly and see if they will ship right out?
-
Considering the roofs the both of you are looking for are simple, two-bend plexy I am pretty sure you could skip the whole buying them and make them through either the cut/glue process or a heat/bend process using a thin piece of metal, long enough for the whole piece, heated up and applied to the glass until it is hot enough to allow a bend. The look may not result in perfection but it would be cheaper and just as effective.

I need perfection

I need perfection
Then I suppose you could always hire someone who works with Plexiglass often to do it for you; I am sure you could get it for under $20 through that avenue.
-
Up we go yet again, help protect my keycaps!
-
Dust bunnies everywhere!!!! AHHHHHH!!!
-
Spent all night eliminating all these dust bunnies, help me get a good night rest!
-
You could always trade me your red click clack :)

Tempting trade you got there, to get rid of all these dust bunnies once and for all, gonna have to sit and think this over.

Stupid dust bunnies wasting my air canister, help me reduce waste!

Hi Tsangan,
What I did in the past was use a piece of cloth and then sewn an elastic band on the bottom and then it works like a hair bonnet. I had one for my Model M. You can easily make any custom size and while it may not look as good as the acrylic roofs, it serves the purpose. To give credit where credit is due, it was my wife who did the sewing and it was her idea. This was after we bought the IBM PS/2 model 80 for big bucks and she wanted to protect the investment.
-
Thanks for the advice but I'm kinda OCD about stuff like this lol
