Title: PCHome Translation
Post by: nineteensc2 on Sun, 09 October 2011, 13:10:37
Hey, guys I know there's a guide to order from PCHome, but it seems outdated.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you're on the page where you have to enter your information, it's not the same as the one provided in the guide on Geekhack.

Geekhack provides this screenshot: http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/fssbzz/guide%20PCHOME/c34a8b97.png

and the page that actually needs translation is this page: http://imageshack.us/f/202/kup3.png/

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all your help.

EDIT: Problem solved, I was wrong

Solution (thanks to leotnnz):

i just read fssbzz's shopping guide. the trouble is happening in the first step with the home page address.

go through global.pchome.com.tw, not world.pchome.com.tw

Agreed, this is an issue. I think we need an updated guide.
Plus, I can't find the PayPal button anymore.

Ordering from PCHome can be scary and weird.

Yeah, I'm extremely lost at the website. I'm surprised PCHome ships internationally but doesn't care to provide translated pages. I mean there sales could go up a significant amount with the proper advertising and convenience.

Agreed. Btw, welcome to Geekhack if you haven't been already!

Thanks a lot :)

Currently I'm in the middle of getting my first mechanical keyboard for professional starcraft II.

At first I didn't wanna settle for anything less than a filco, but since they're so rare now I feel like they're overpriced.

So I decided to go for a leopold, which would cost me 142 CAD total, but someone told me duckys are just as good. Knowing they're going for $74 + shipping on PC Home, thats what I'm going for. (Ducky brown TKL).

I hope it lives up to my expectations, and I don't end up wishing I got the leopold instead.

You might want to consider going for a CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid with browns on PCHome instead. They are Filco clones, made by the same company. Likely better build quality than a Ducky.

Perhaps one of our Chinese-speaking members can help with a new PCHome guide??

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking of at the moment. Either browns or reds as the reds are getting a fair share of hype.

Very true! Thank you so much, and sorry for the misconception.

I found that Google translate addon for Chrome does very good. It doesn't translate everything and buttons can still be an issue but often if you mouse over a button it will translate it in the pop up.   The Google translate for Firefox keeps telling me invalid page though,

I am not ready to buy anything from PChome yet so I don't want to create an account.  But if you post screen shots hete and mark the text you want to be translated, I can translate it for you.
