Where are you located?
If you're quick, Staples.com (in US) has the Logitech illuminated keyboard (nice scissor-key) for $34.99, free shipping.
That's half-price or better for that keyboard.

Nice keyboard -- laptop-like, good quality.

Keytronic.

If you are in the US, I tested this board out and it was really good for a membrane. Keep in mind I have a lot of demanding NKEY games and this covers it all. The layout is the same as a DT-35 and much cheaper. $10 and free shipping right now.

Why not get a $35 mechanical?

what he said... with a little careful shopping you could probably pick up a good used Model M, alternately a Cherry POS board with MX switches (if you can deal with the larger form factor.) The latter would actually be suitable for gaming if you pick the right one, as some of them are NKRO over PS/2.

Since this is a mechanical enthusiast site primarily, I will also echo. You can often get good deals both new and used on ebay of many Cherry MX (I got one with black for $20 recently new), IBM M, and Alps switch for $35 or less. The caveat is you have to be less picky about layout in most cases, or be willing to do some intensive cleaning when it comes to good bargain used.

True. I got two Compaq MX 11800s for 20$ each. Apart from weird layout, this old trusty keyboard is very cost effective.

The 11800 is a staple for a cheap 1st board.
There are $40 shipped model Ms as well on eBay.
