This is what I use to open switches / pull keys. Though you have to be careful to not scratch the keycaps.

This isn't too bad of a design for a make-shift puller. If the scratching became a concern you could use something like electrical tape, melted a little bit, around the bend/tip to give it a sort of 'padding'.
