Post by: firewarrior on Fri, 14 October 2011, 01:23:12
What is the grease or oil that is in the MX switches? I opened one up from a new keyboard and it was oily and was wondering what they use in case something ever drys.

Not inside the switch? You mean for the stabilizers, right?

I have used silicon oil and had mixed results on different switch types. You can get it in pen form from Fry's, which makes it really easy to apply small amounts accurately (you don't want to add to much or it will actually clog the switch/slow it down).
