Title: Red ESC / WASD to Blackwidow Ultimate
Post by: tukkez on Fri, 14 October 2011, 13:19:35
Hey,

Thinking of getting some red WASD keys and a different ESC button to my Blackwidow Ultimate. Which should I get and where?  Do all the Cherry MX keys work in Blackwidow Ultimate? Thanks.

Found some Filco Red "WASD" keys, Would these work?

Depending on where you are located there are different vendors. You can try Qtan in the group buy , he sells key caps international from Asia.  Or WASD Keyboards from here in the states sell a multitude of colors. I got a blue and yellow set from them and they are great.  ( Although unused because I found them distracting and the board felt unbalanced aesthetically. )

How do I know which key caps / keys work with Blackwidow Ultimate? Are they a completly different key or just some kind of sticker that you put on the original key ?

As long as they are designed to fit the cherry stem (keycap description will say its for cherry mx switches.) you can use it with your board.

Also, I think I read something about razer saying that you void your warranty if you take out the keycaps? I hope that's not true or else that'd be the dumbest **** ever.

I'm fairly sure that's not true. How would they know if I took off a key? :D
