Title: [RQ] Help Identify Chicony KB-2966
Post by: datacenter on Sat, 22 October 2011, 07:25:53
Hi guys,

Today I received an offer about Chicony KB-2966 for 50 buks... and the owner says it it APLS keyboard...
The problem is ... I don't believe that this is a mechanical keyboard.... googling I found a various prices starting from 14 pounds to $ 214... so I am quite confused.

Do you have any clue what kind of keys does the KB-2966 have?

Thanks again!

Seriously?
If I could see what lies beneath the keycaps... would I be wasting your time? ;)

Most likely rubber dome. A lot of KB-5xxx are mechanical but much of the rest are rubber domes.

Just pull the damn thing off. You can't be certain with Chicony boards until you do. Them seem to like to come in a whole variety of switch types.

Well, for $50 it's certainly not worth the risk.
