I mostly just want the case, but if anyone has a non-functional or wonky Filco tkl board (FKBN87MC/EB2), I'd be happy to take it off your hands. I have the PCB and all the switches I'll need to rebuild, but I don't have a case or any fabrication capabilities to produce one.
Thanks for looking!
EDIT2: Looks like the case for a Filco Zero will also work. Anybody?
EDIT3: I'm told the case for a PLU ML87 will also fit.
-
Nearly 80 views and nobody has a broken Filco Majestouch? Odd.
Edit: I guess that speaks pretty highly of Filco's build quality, though.
-
they are pretty hard to break :(
gl looking

Thanks for the luck... I'm sure there's SOMEBODY out there with a broken Filco... I just have to be patient and try to keep this thread up near the top. ;-)
-
or wait for the metal case group buy to actually be done..... then there will be plenty of plastic cases on the market
-
Wait, what? There's a metal-case group-buy for the Filco Magestouch87?
1: Damn.
2: Yay! Someone will have a case available soon. (though it WOULD be nice to get a non-functional board, so I don't have to fabricate a plate to mount them on)
-
You could look into the Dox KB mod thread for suggestions on getting the plate http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:19227&do=comments And that way if you wanted you could then also get the metal case if you were so inclined. Personally I prefer plastic case simply because I don't like having to feel metal when i don't need to.
-
I've contacted Dox and he sent me his CAD files (what a nice guy). I have access to a metal fabricator, so I could probably get this cut without too much hassle. I may have an item to offer the other Poker owners on here, too... just something I came up with here at work.
Edited the OP... looks like the Filco Zero case will work just as well.
-
as soon as the phantom mod comes out, this will be the hardest thing to find. the only broken filco i've seen sold for $80.
the ML87 case is the same as filcos and should work as well.
-
Well, hopefully one of the nice people getting a metal replacement case will be willing to part with the original case.
I've also contacted HaveANiceDay to see if he'll have any spare mounting plates when they do the Phantom. We'll see!
-
HaveANiceDay hasn't been participating for quite some time now. Don't think he's the one to ask. Litster is org'ing the GB and I think Bini was looking at dealing with the plates.
-
also, as far as i'm aware, no one is even started doing the head work on a metal case, much less leg work.

Looks like this one is coming along. In fact, I contacted OneProduct and he said it's still alive.

I guess I'll have to contact BiNi... thanks for the heads-up!

i'm not going to hold my breath on that case thread until i see a prototype or cad drawing. knowing some guys's dad us works with a mill doesn't mean we've got a tangible product, and much less, both parts of the chassis. from what i'm reading, it looks like he's partially interested in doing the top only, not a full replacement.
looking forward to seeing where it goes though.
Bah. This is a long-term project for me anyway. It's not like I NEED another board right now.

I thought I'd give this a little bump... I'm still looking for any Filco/PLU (ML87) parts. I mostly need the plate, but the case would be great too. Anyone who's damaged one with drink or buggered up the PCB somehow, I'm still looking.
