But the food just ain't no good?

Like when the macaroni's soggy, the peas are mushed, and the chicken tastes like wood?

I'm generally surprised if less than three fire trucks show up when I'm cooking.

You, know, that would be a good way to get out of it.

Usually I try to play it off, Like I think I can, by pretending that I'm full.
And then my freind says, "Momma, he's just being polite
 He ain't finished, uh-uh, that's bull!"

Always loved the ketchup bit on Prairie Home Companion.

I've always had good food at others' houses. Forces me to try things I usually wouldn't and I've been fortunate enough to mature my palette this way. What I'm trying to say is that I'm a foodie and hate myself and I'll die alone with a full stomach..

One time, I invited a friend over to my apartment for steak. I decided to pan sear them, using olive oil. So I cranked it on high just like the random food blog said and subsequently learned that olive oil has a low smoking point.

Unfortunately it also becomes unhealthy once you heat it beyond smoking point.

I knew it was from Rappers Delight, but someone already finished the lyric, so I had nothing relevant to say. I do love jamming out to that song in parking lots though.

Try grapeseed oil if you want similar flavour with a higher smoking point.  It's nice .. very light and crisp and you can get things insanely hot before it starts to smoke/burn.  I use it in cooking and I've even done popcorn with it (I have a kettle popping machine).
