Title: 5 Pin Din Keyboard on a USB motherboard? Is it possible to get it to work?

I recently came across a NMB RT8255c+ keyboard in my ex-employers warehouse.  I LOVE the feel of this board and want to use it on my main system.  I am kind of a noob in the area of vintage computing....  Is there a way to get this 5 pin din connection to work with a usb-only motherboard.  I have tried the adapter route (A 5 pin din to ps/2, and a ps/2 to usb), and with the adapters the computer recognizes that SOMETHING is plugged into the usb port, it just doesn't recognize the device.  Also, when I hit a key, it disconnects and reconnects real quick.  Is there something I can make, or a program or driver I can download?  Any help on this would be appreciated.

You'll need an active PS/2 to USB adapter for it to work, if you haven't got one already. There's a big list of them in the wiki (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=PS2-to-USB+adapters) with comments on how well each performs :-)

This kind only works with keyboards/mice that can talk USB:

Thanks man.  Ah, that purple adapter is exactly the one I am using.  I'm ordering an active one tonight.  I appreciate the help!
