"To celebrate Plattan's 2nd birthday we’d like to give away a 10-pack of the current collection of Plattan headphones. Keep them for yourself, or give them away to family and friends for the holidays. All you have to do to enter is like us on Facebook, and write a post on our page about why you deserve to win the 10-pack.
The person with the most “likes” on their post will win, so be sure share your post with your friends so they vote for you. The winner will be chosen on Monday, December 5th. Good luck to everyone!"
So its a pretty simple idea Dudes, dudettes, and el duderinos. Lets just win this. I see no reason we cannot. Lets just find 10 people who want em, and have them like a post. if the kind souls on geekhack want to see free stuff handed out, they can like the post.
Dibs on orange if we win, even if they are subpar hipsterphones.

i hate that facebook crap
-
its not really one of those click this, advertise here ones. Its just whoever gets the most likes. free headphones. not much else.
-
So you have to be a FB friend-**** to win. Normal people need not apply.
-
-_- dont have to be friends to like.
-
Ah, you have to be willing to open your facebook to non-friends... FB privacy is a hard enough golden goose to chase. I will never have an FB account and my wife works very hard to keep everything personal off of hers. It's a good thing I hate people.

^ wow, another me

Damn, not what I was thinking:

im in complete agreement with this, however, you need not even open your facebook to the public to do it. im a fellow cynic and skeptic when in comes to people, but ill be damned if im not a sucker for free stuff.

You probably have no idea what kind of resources the people who specialize in winning those contests can bring to bear. For amateurs it's just a waste of time.
-
Why don't we try. It couldn't hurt. = P

They look like crap and likely sound like crap.
Just bought some Grado SR80i cans. Bit of a change compared to the IEMs I normally wear (super-wide soundstage, much brighter -- but that's the Grado thing) but I'm really enjoying them so far. Only problem is compared to IEMs or closed headphones my Model M is now drowning out the music :P

I need another pair of can's to mod. I don't think they'll compare with my SR225i's ofcourse.
Grado's have a weak soundstage compared with the wonder that is Audio Technica ATH-AD900
---
But like I said, these'll be cannibalized almost immediately, were I to get a pair.
-
You haven't heard soundstage until you hear some K701, they sounded terrible because I'm so used to closed cans. The MS-Pro's sounded great.

You K701's haven't heard AD900 have you?
I've always wanted to go to a meet, but there are none in my area, and I don't have a car.
Does anyone know about the internals of this headphone? Will it be easy to take it apart?

Ha! Of course. "Urban Ears" is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
"Plattan" is the nickname for the central square in Stockholm. It is used as a marketplace (especially before Christmas) and it is used for political gatherings, but most of the time it is a place which you pass quickly on your way from the subway to/from one of the central market streets -- you do it quickly because of all the junkies, drug dealers and other semi-criminal elements that hang out there.
Because of the latter, the name "Plattan" is something that, at least I, always associate with filth.
The hipsters at "Urban Ears" must think that the name is just so edgy and cool ...
BTW. There are many hipsters in Stockholm, especially in "IT" and "media". Too many, if you ask me. (especially at the company I work for ...)
