Title: Modded Dell AT101W for USB
Post by: weenis on Wed, 23 November 2011, 20:55:05
I purchased a Black Alps, Made in Mexico, New In Box AT101W. I love typing on this thing... really liking it. I've been using it with a Blue Cube, and thought I would change my keyboard over to play nice with a USB cable.

So... I opened it up and started clipping, soldering, Sugru'ing (http://sugru.com), drilling, and filing.

Here are the results-

With the keyboard flat, as seen in the last picture, the USB cable does not touch my (dusty, I know...) desk.

Woohoo :rapture:

Now I just need to wait about 24 hours for the Sugru to fully cure.

I don't think this is possible.

That's a different board than the AT101W, here's a picture of the AT101W

I guess it is possible... but it would be a lot more difficult than the AT101 since it is a pretty clean and easy cut and wire.

The tenkeyless mod is entirely possible. Just make sure you get the matrix back intact. You can then use the original controller OR a different controller (hasu's controller, mine in a few weeks.{hopefully} Its the AIKON)
