Title: Cheapest place to buy keycaps?
Post by: roadlesstraveled on Fri, 25 November 2011, 12:24:51
I'm looking to purchase white engraved or side printed PBT keycaps and possibly clear ABS keycaps (I don't believe they make clear PBT keycaps, or am I wrong?).

Where's the cheapest place to buy them?

I don't think there are clear ABS key caps. They are made of Polyacryl, that's why they are so hard and brittle, not a good material for key caps (if you ever used BIC Cristal pens you know why).

Edit: Sorry the Cristal Pen ist made of Polystyrene not Polyacryl, which is even worse I think.

IS polyacryl another name fro PMMA or acrlyic, or is it PAA "polyacrylic acid" I can't keep up with all these stupid trade names fro plastics.

Also, I suspect the clear keycaps are ABS.

Just a generic term for different acrylics, but it is definitely PMMA.
