Post by: ishtob on Fri, 09 December 2011, 01:44:10
Doing this cold turkey, loaded up my DOX with colemak.

Been about a day, at around 35 wpm.... going to be typing up a 10 page paper next week, going to use that chance to practice :)

Nice to see another Colemak user, but you should create the thread in Alternative Layouts subforum.

Awesome, I'd love to make the switch, but it's dirty qwerty world out there.

Switching to Colemak requires considerable mental courage and physical fitness of your fingers.

After my own switching experience from Qwerty to Colemak (http://forum.colemak.com/viewtopic.php?id=970) I see that it is not for everyone but the brave and flexible in mindset.

The reward is a great typing feel though.

For anyone who don't know what Colemak is, here is the Colemak layout

I struggled with going from qwerty to dvorak - but it was so worth it in the end.

Give a few months, you'll be amazed just how bad qwerty was!

Sounds like you're doing well - good to hear it.
