Hey guys who of you is using blank keyboard and why (apart from showing off)?
I used blank keyboard (Filco Tenkeyless with brown cherries) to force myself to learn proper touch typing at first. Now I don't really care if there are labels or not on a keyboard. I was using various Model Ms with and without labels for almost a year and now I'm using blank Unicomp and labeled G80 with MX Blue, I use the Cherry one rather rarely as it's in the office and I do most of my work from home.

I got a Leopold 104 key blank keyboard with mx browns because it was $10 cheaper and I already was a touch typer!
And it looks cool...

To learn new layout perhaps? I being wanted to learn COLEMAK for a long time but the QWERTY on KB is killing me from learning COLEMAK...
I think i need to say good bye to QWERTY fonts first b4 I can learn COLEMAK proper and effectively.

I got blank for looks initially and use them on my primary keyboard. They have helped somewhat for my typing as I never realized how much I looked at my hands / keyboard before. I also find it less of a distraction when switching languages and has been great for helping me learn touch typing for Russian, though I still have one keyboard with Russian printed keys which I can glance at if I get stuck on where a character is located.

The main portion of my keyboard is blank. This was done for two reasons, first so I could switch layouts and not have the wrong layout on my board, and second and most importantly, letter labels would get in the way of the artwork I had lasered in.

Blank or not, it's basically all the same for me. When I got my first board, Das III Ultimate, the blank look was cool but not so much anymore. I like my printed/blank boards all in their own ways.
No problem with Colemak on a lettered board here. Nobody forces you to look down.

otaku keycaps not pure enough. Remove keycaps all together and type on the stems!
Hmmm... on my white keyboard it's doable but feels slippery, on a black one where keycaps are integrated with stems it's impossible to type by just pressing springs :D

I origionally got a blank keyboard to learn to touch type, and then also got more blank keys because they look cool and freak people out.

i wanted blank key caps because they give the overall keyboard a cleaner look

So maybe someone could tell why he's not using blank keys? Any reasons apart from not being able to touch type properly? I guess for some games it may be tricky too...

That's just a name Ripster, although TKL shortcut is irritating indeed.
Tell us what do you think about blank keys though.

I've got one blank, one with Colemak legends and the rest are just their original qwerty. I never look at any of them except when I'm eating or something and just using one hand to poke at a few keys. Looking at my Colemak layout actually confuses the hell out of me.

Besides one-handed typing, I look at the legends mostly when I need to position the hands. I am not used to feeling the F and J keys because 1) I am not a touch-typer and never got used to holding my hands stationary over those keys, 2) I use mostly Cherry keyboards where the F and J are scooped more instead of having dimples -- and that scooping is not very apparent. I did not notice that the F and J keys were scooped before someone told me.
I have some lasered Cherry keys that I mean to sand-blast the away legends from. They are currently in US and German layout, but I use the Swedish layout and have a difficulty finding keys in that layout. If I can not get Swedish keys, then I'd rather go blank.
I also mean to dye the keys. There are some colour schemes which would look best with white legends -- but you can only dye darker -- leaving blank keys as the only alternative.
