Title: keyboard for the wife.
Post by: Stratagem on Tue, 27 December 2011, 11:04:17
My wife gave me a lot of crap when I first spent the money on a mechanical keyboard(blue switches)... then she tried it and fell in love. lol
So I'm looking to buy her one for work. She does have co-workers so blue is out of the question. I'm looking for either browns or clears and I'm willing to spend around $100.

You could consider reds also.  Linear switches with a short throw, topped with o-rings will make for a great workplace keyboard....not to mention the holiday price of $89.

Cheap ass o-rings (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?24930-Cheapass-O-rings-for-sale-3-for-a-pack-of-120-rings)

EK doesn't distribute Filco anymore, so no.

I bought my Majestouch-2 on Amazon. Amazon is awesome, and so is Keyboardco UK. I'm very grateful that they send some of their stock to Amazon so us in the USA can buy Filco products now that Elite has moved on.

She fell in love with your blue switches. If i were you i'd go with browns since it's going to be a little closer in feel to blues than reds. Reds are a very different feel than blues.

Second the suggestion to go with browns. Get some o-rings for her work keyboard though. My browns are still loud as hell. That may just be me mashing the S and A keys while playing SC2 though.

Go with Black Switches or Buckling Springs; She'll need some resistance so the keys are not crushed.
