Title: Das vs. Leopold
Post by: Mandarinez on Tue, 27 December 2011, 19:35:55
Hey everyone, I'm in the market for my first mechanical keyboard. At first I was really considering the Leopold from elitekeyboards, but after going into checkout, the sales tax and shipping made it almost as expensive as the mxbrown version of the Das. And after the Das educational discount, its not so close anymore.

From what I've read, most people recommend the Leopold over Das, but these comparisons usually involve the price discrepancy between the two brands. However, if the Leopold really is better in terms of form and feel, then I would be willing to pay more for it. Disregarding price, how do these two keyboards compare?

Seconding this. I don't think I'd ever buy a Das, just because of the shiny finish on the housing. It'd turn to a fingerprinted/scratched mess in no time, and my brain will be forcing me to clean it constantly.

For me, just based on that alone, its Leopold for sure.

Hehe I wish that the other switches were also 89$... I'd go for it right then and there. When you say that the new leopolds are coming in 2012, what time frame are we talking? If 2012 means holiday season 2012... I don't think i'd wait that long.
