I have seen some posts saying these are linear but comparable to what? Cherry red or black?

I also highly doubt these are silent ;-)

Yeah I bought the one with the greens for a buddy and I used it for a week or so. I am just wondering if anyone has tested or reviewed the one with the black alps. Unless I am a complete noob; everyone I have seen has gotten the green?
