How about a semi-custom or custom WASD keyboard? They're getting excellent reviews around here.
Since this is your first post, welcome to Geekhack. =) And you can't go wrong with a Filco... really. Also good call on that HHKB Lite 2. If you like the size, save up and get the real HHKB Pro 2. One of the best keyboards ever, imo. =PShow Image(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/eddie84/OCN/Mech%20keyboard%20club/HHKB/th_DSC06202.jpg) (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/eddie84/OCN/Mech%20keyboard%20club/HHKB/DSC06202.jpg)
Well, as of now I have a fairly decent budget of somewhere around $150. This will be my first mechanical keyboard outside of an old IBM keyboard that my Dad owns. I've decided the Cherry MX Browns would be the best choice seeing as I'm going to be doing lots of typing and a bit of gaming. Before I knew about switch types and what not I was looking into a Happy Hacker Keyboard Lite2 but I've decided that would be a waste of money. Now I currently have my eye on a Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless but I'm not sure if it's the best bang for my buck.I would sugestg a leopold tkl and a HHKB pro 2
So if any of you could suggest something better (if there is anything better) that would be nice.
How about a semi-custom or custom WASD keyboard (http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/) ? They're getting excellent reviews around here.their greatboard but they wont have a tkl fo a while.
God I want that setup so much....
I ended up purchasing the Filco. Now I'm just hoping that I won't have any trouble with this switch type seeing as I will be playing some MMOs and I'm only used to rubber dome keyboards.
If you do give it a week or 2 and you should be used t it by then.
Both WASD and Filco are probably better than the current Leopolds (which got reports of controller and usb connector problems recently).
