Title: Cherry Plate-mounted Stabilizers
Post by: litster on Sun, 01 January 2012, 15:23:17
For plate-mounted Costar stabilizers, you can install and remove them right from the plate.  I only have Cherry's PCB-mounted stabilizers so I don't know what Cherry's plate-mounted stabilizers look like.

Is it the same with Cherry's plate-mounted stabilizers?

Thanks.

EDIT:
Hum, I think I found my answer here (http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/switches/key/mx.htm):

Looks like it is sandwiched between the plate and PCB, so you can't really remove Cherry's stabilizers without de-soldering every switch and separate the plate and the PCB first.

You just need to remove a single switch to remove the stabilizer with plate mounted cherry stabilizers.

Oh, cool!  That is much better.  Then I can use the same Phantom prototype to test with both Cherry and Costar stabilzers.  Thanks.

Hum, ripster said otherwise in his key pulling guide wiki here:http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?14736-How-to-reattach-the-enter-key-on-a-Razer-Black-Widow&p=285128&viewfull=1#post285128

Did ripster build a keyboard by himself....
I did swap the stabilizers multiple times just by removing the stabilized switch.
