Title: [SOLD] IBM Model M 52G9658 in great condition
Post by: C.S. on Mon, 02 January 2012, 13:14:57
I've finally decided to pick up a Cherry MX Blue board, so it's time to let go of my Model M.  This is a model 52G9658 which was manufactured by Lexmark.  It has a blue IBM label, double piece keycaps, and a built-in coiled PS/2 cable.  I picked this up a couple years ago on ebay when I was first exploring the world of mechanical keyboards, but I've only used it for a few hours at most.

This was a used board, but you wouldn't know it by looking at it.  I did a little cleaning, but it was in remarkably good condition to begin with; no broken rivets, all keys work and feel perfect, no squeaks, LEDs work, and so on.

This is a very clean board; there only a couple minor cosmetic blemishes.  The only one of note is on the right shift key as shown in the images; the rest are all on the underside of the board.  Honestly, I would keep this since it's in such good shape, but it would be a shame for it to sit in my closet, deprived of the caress of someone's loving fingertips.

EDIT: Looking for around $40 SHIPPED in US.  Make an offer if you're interested!

Say hi!

Nice and clean, ready to be touched for the very first time (figuratively speaking):

Built-in cable, couple minor blemishes:

A quick estimate on USPS shows around $55-60.

Bumping this thread.  I'm hoping someone is interested in this board; it's really in fantastic condition and a pleasure to type on.  I'd like $40 shipped, but please make an offer if you're interested.

One last bump before putting this on eBay.  Let me know if you have any interest at all.  This is a great board.

Oh man, do you ship to Canada?
After the disappointing Cherry Brown as my first (and only) board, perhaps I may find a new love in buckling spring before searching for a Blue board  :P

FYI, this is a really good deal for someone who may want to try mechanical keyboards for the first time or who wants a model M as a daily driver.  I've sold a model m like this on ebay for this much plus another $15 for shipping (which is what it cost for a usps priority mail game box).
$40 out the door is a good deal.
