So, what do you think? Are our lovely thingys males or females or something else?
Or does it depend on switch or form factor? Or some other feature?

Ripster please give link to wiki ;D

i often see personification of valuable things as "she", so our keyboards must be females

Our fingers are having sex with the Filco brown, so it must be female.
We are using condom, I mean o-ring.

I always refer to my keyboard by "it", therfor it would be neutral.
My PC however is female.

It depends on the connector. Most keyboards have fixed USB or PS/2 cables and are male.
Keyboards who have detachable USB connectors, like the Poker and Leopold are female.
Vintage Apple keyboards with the ADB bus are hermaphrodites.

So Model M is female? One with removable cable?

I "finger" my keyboards, so I'd consider them female.

I don't know about you, but my keyboards are sexy *****es! :becky:

If there is a metal plate inside, it's probably male. If there are 2 metal plates, it's a full-grown adult male.
All clicky keyboards are male.
If case and backboard are all plastic, it is probably female.
All wireless keyboards are female, unless it is something like a Model M that has been modded to be wireless.
Most rubber dome keyboards are female, although a metal plate may indicate butchness (this can be offset by a sensuous enough cloud ....).
If it is less than 2 of your fingers thick, or weighs less than 2 bottles of your favorite beer, it may not have reached puberty yet.
I agree that keyboards can also be gay or hermaphroditic.

always male.
