Title: Topre with silencer?

Hello,
I can not seem to find any information about the differences between HHKB and HHKB Type S. Elitekeyboards states the Type S uses Topre with silencer. Is this a modification by PFU or have Topre made a new version?

You have to wait a lot until it loads. The Type S uses Foam rings on the Topre switch that reduce the noise when the keycap turns back in position after being pressed.

They just added the silencing plunger like in the silent versions of the 87U. 30% quieter according to them. There should be videos of the difference in sound. Also, the plunger shortens the keystroke a tiny bit.

Rippy, do you think that you could do a ghetto Type-S mod by whacking an O-Ring on the plunger? How hard is it to take apart a HHKB?

Why are some wiki's locked for edit? I see that Topre wiki is open for edit, but some are closed. Shouldn't wiki be open for everyone to contribute? I guess I don't know how wiki in GH works.

If they were his he would have watermarked them.
