I'm not a smart man, but let's see if I understand this offer: we are going to pay $86 + shipping, and then after a period of indeterminate waiting, we will get a set of 104 beautiful keycaps, which we'll mount on our keyboard, then and we'll toss our new PBT dyesub Caps Lock key in the garbage can (those of us with ANSI keyboards, that is), because it's useless? So we will have a keyboard with 103 awesomely beautiful keycaps, and one repugnant eyesore of an ABS Caps Lock key in the middle of it all, like a big brown turd on a clean white blanket? Is that right? Oh well. I'm in for at least one set of these 104 keycaps plus 1 useless Caps Lock. But then again, I'm not all that bright, I already admitted that, so I feel no shame.

it's very clear that there's a second caps lock key in the set, which is not stepped. that key is not tan though, which is what everyone is talking about.
Ok can someone confirm once and for all will the stepped caps lock work on a filco with no modding. Or does it need a stem mod.
It will need to be modded to fit on a Filco. The stepped capslock key is designed for Cherry boards and has an off-centered stem.
The extra capslock that it comes with (non-stepped) will work with Filcos, however, it's color is not the same as the rest of the modifiers...which is odd.
i'm going to echo what ripster asked. is there a tenkeyless option for a little bit cheaper?
and also, any way to get all blank caps, or all white instead of gray and white?

If I end up doing a white/blue acrylic case, the white/blue dye sub keycaps would look awesome with the case.
I didn't do any review of the first set but my impression is that they're quite thin. You can actually see some little indentation on top of the keycap where the stem is. I can take a few closeup shots later.this sounds a lot like the PBT caps that i bought from qtan
That's because those are the very same keys, except for the labeling part of course.
Interestingly, I can see the indentation on the outside of the caps corresponding to the stem only on my side-printed white/black PBTs, but not on the engraved white/black PBTs. Molds do seem to be the same though...
imsto, can you please tell us if the following options are available?

Total cost = $402
Cost per person $402/4 = $100.50
That means you're paying $86/set + $14.50 shipping

FYI, I sent a set of 104 caps to tsangan using USPS Priority flat rate box w/ tracking and it was $6.10.Which flat rate box did you send it in? Medium flat rate box is $11, the small one is $5, but it won't fit inside the small one. I think shipping in a USPS padded flat rate envelope is probably the best choice. $5.10, includes tracking.

I'm just saying with the capslock being the wrong colour, it doesn't look half-bad, even though it doesn't make as much sense. I don't really need my modifiers to be coloured (or printed, either) because I already know where they are, but I don't mind the looks of having it this way.

impection in the first batch are common, as seen in the SP run, let us hope the next batch will get things right, that inclues the CAP LOCK and the MINUS keys.
I understand that. Shouldn't be too much of a big deal to get it modded. But yah imo they both should have been centered. But you said something was wrong with the minus key. Looks fine to me. One pic shows a cherry cap (which I would have much rather had instead of minus) but the red set pic shows it with the minus key.

I heard they have received quite a large group buy from Korea, so maybe the seller really does not give a damn about the caplock. but if they decide to fix it, I will place my orders.
So you got the minus key correctly, and your set didn't include the cherry key? Imo the stepped capslock key is just fine, making it centered has no practical advatage. The whole idea of the stepped keys is to eliminate the need of stabilizers, and fill up the blank space(they could have used a smaller centered key, but that would make it look weird), that's the reason why the design it off-centered.
Have you experienced the common problem with thicker Cherry Corp PBT keys with costar stabilizers? Namely, the wire has a tendency to stick to the wall of the keycap when bottoming out.
Well the problem with it being uncentered is it doesn't freaking work! These keys were obviously made for a filco style layout right? Since all the modifiers are centered. So not really sure why the caps wouldn't be.

I'm gonna have to wait until these are in black font and the caps lock color is fixed (or they just make all white/beige caps). It's actually pretty silly that of all colors, black is the one that isn't even made and has to be requested.

Makes me wonder if I never sent that nag PM, when he would actually be shipped out.
