IBM Model M, Part number 1391401, Manufactured Aug 21, 1991 w/ Fujikura PS/2 Cable from Unicomp.
It's pretty clean for an old keyboard, though not perfect, and works great.
$30 shipped CONUS. Will happily ship internationally, though shipping will be high.

Sold!

Grumble grumble...SmallFry needs model M caps; $30 is a steal.
-
SmallFry: there is a local computer shop in which I saw an M in the back, not sure if it's for sale or not. It probably filthy and without a working cable, but if you want I can snag it next time I'm over there (it's probably $5-$10).
-
This was a killer deal!
-
could you find me one treigle, how do you find model m's
-
A while back I found (and bought) 15 model Ms at this one local computer shop. It's a veritable graveyard for old parts. That was the last one I had been holding onto, which hadn't been getting any use.....
I was in there the other day looking for a Compaq 11800, and saw one more M that must have been hiding. I'll snag it today in case someone wants it or parts off of it, but it will probably be without a cable, and will probably the last one I'll personally be able to find. SmallFry has first dibs, then NorrisB.

OK guys, I went back to that computer shop and picked up a filthy, disgusting IBM model M made in 1993 with a non-detachable cable, with 2-piece keycaps and a black backplate for $10. It's missing the upper F2 keycap. All keys and LEDs work, and most individual keys feel pretty good, but when I actually type on it, it feels like maybe some of the keys stick slightly, probably from the spooge inside it. Did I mention that it's disgusting?

Not pictured is the "#20" sharpied onto the right side of the board.
Anyway, since a couple of you expressed interest in more model M's, and I have a large USPS flat rate priority "game" box ($14.95 postage), I can provide this hideous beast for $24.95 shipped CONUS (w/o delivery confirmation). Please understand that I am making no money from this, the keyboard will not be cleaned (that would deprive others of the lulz), and that the purchaser will regret buying this disgusting thing from the moment they open the box. Alternately, I could harvest just the keycaps for SmallFry, or someone could trade me for an equally disgusting Compaq 11800....... ;)

It's a model M. It will clean up and look brand new. It's also a perfect time to bolt mod it.
-
treigle, that's a really admirable thing to do
-
I've spent a lot of time messing with keyboard lately, so grabbing a model M is nothing. I'm going to post about my variable force Filco linear soon..... ;)
-
I need all the F keys so thank you, but I'll let NorrisB in on this one. If he doesn't want it I'll take it because I didn't mean to have you buy that for me.
-
Someone will need parts or something from it eventually, so I can just hold on to it until then.
-
So any other ones that you may have found?
-
No, I cleaned out that shop of their model Ms, and there isn't much else of interest there or anywhere else local that I know of.
-
triegle how do you find these keyboard grave yards
-
I found this by accident, while looking for a server chassis. It's just a computer shop that was next to a Chinese restaurant that I go to once in a while. My area also has a couple of computer recycling outfits, where you can find cheap old parts. I haven't found good keyboards at these places, but once in a while there is something neat. It's not worth spending too much time at such places though....
Anyway, I partially cleaned up that model M if anyone wants it (or parts). Otherwise I'll probably eBay it in a week or two.

This was supposedly sold, but I haven't heard back from the guy for a while.....

All keys and LEDs work. It has a non-detachable cable, black backplate, made it 1993, two-piece keycaps (missing the F2 upper cap), and has a scratch above the Caps Lock LED. It's gotten a moderate cleaning, but it's not perfect. It's definitely not as nice as the one I sold a few weeks ago, but the price reflects this: $25.65 shipped CONUS w/ delivery confirmation, $24.95 w/o.
-
How are you selling these so cheap? In my experience its like $15 to ship a keyboard unless you are fitting it in a flat rate box somehow. Or are you just selling them for whatever you paid to help people out? I've been wanting one but I'm out of cash at the moment.
-
I would like this if still available!
thanks!

I'm selling this one at actual cost, just because I don't want it to sit around in some shop unused. It was $10 even (no additional tax), and it's in a flat-rate box ($14.95, "game box"). Plus I really don't need to keep more than a few keyboards around... :)

Thanks! :)

I had never seen that game box thanks.

Recieved. Fast shipping, packaged nicely and I must say, the board is much cleaner than expected. Treigle obviously spent a bit of time cleaning it up. Thanks brutha it's appreciated. The only bad thing is it was such a good deal on a clean board as my first transaction on Geek Hack, Im going to think all transactions will be this good :-) So thanks again Treigle, for setting this noob up right from the start.

What Mmmbacon said, triegle is awesome. Sell more things, so I can buy it all from you lol
