Title: Keyboard Carrying Bags
Post by: nokcha on Thu, 12 January 2012, 12:45:30
Does anyone know of any affordable bags for carrying your keyboard? I go to LAN parties a lot and hate having to physically carry my keyboard in one arm rather than have a bag that carries my keyboard, mouse, and wires all in one arm. Specifically looking for a 104 keyboard length :x

Yeah , I would think the laptop backpack would be ideal.  That or get a hard case for something like a flute and take out the lining if you want uber dork hardcore protection

Oh i was hoping there would be a bag specifically made to carry keyboards :[ i kept googling and it gave me results for piano keyboard carrying bags. I'll definitely look into the 17" laptop bags.

There are some, but they're hard to find, honestly. Most of them I've ever seen were directly in relation to Pro Starcraft (for instance, a friend of mine owns a KT Rolster (http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/KT_Rolster) bag) Another one a friend of mine owns is a Keyboad Quiver, which is this (http://www.falconsafety.com/dustoffzone/ProductDetails.aspx?ItemId=5)

You can try contacting Elite Keyboards. While they don't currently have a 104 length case, they do have these:

Maybe they will be able to help you out.

i've been meaning to buy an aluminum case for my keyboard, then hollow out some foam so it fits snug~

y'know, just trying to make my keyboard look as baller as possible. When you put enough time into any hobby, it's good to take steps to show you care about it.

enthusiast. :)
usually spent around an hour or more cleaning my keyboards from dust.
keeping them in the box feels like abandoning them, but leaving them out of the box will collect dust.
ouch

Noppoo mini in the mail. I have a big cushy bag to carry my laptop. I was going to just use this. I imagine the keys would occasionally get/stay squished. Would this damage a keyboard?

That depends.  Are you traveling for 3 yrs straight and don't plan to take it out of the bag while doing so ?

Any spring will begin to weaken if it's held in a compressed state for long periods of time , but your average 2-3 hour flight shouldn't hurt it. My Glock magazines stay fully loaded for up to a year and the springs are still pretty strong in all of them.  I would be more concerned with how it would be thrown around while in the back than i would by the compressed keys.

Also be wary of other items within the bag that might catch on a key or something like a pen/knife/hatchet/tire iron/axe. (cause we all carry these around in our travel bags amirite?)

My bags often have alot of debris in them as they double as camping bags, I would need a dedicated bag for laptop/keyboard myself.

cool. thanks. commute 45 min-1 hour on the road each way.  Should be around 30min each way.... except Houston, TX, US. must have the worst drivers.  Its almost like their brain stops working when they are on the road.

Cant wait to see what their like I just check out the pics that are up on ebay for them and its bigger than I though but since it carries a ton of stuff im not worried nor surprised. It looks like its built well which is something I cant say about the razer bag.

Same have a HHKB one for my HHKB and a Leopold for my realforce and leopold. Surprisingly its fit the realforce better than the leopold, like they made it for the realforce rather than the leopold.

I use a grey, semi-rigid rectangular Samsonite bag I found at a thrift store, with two pieces of open cell, (matching) grey foam.  It's just the right size for my Model M's, has rings for a shoulder strap - and cost $4.00.  I don't know what Samsonite intended it for, but it works great for keyboards. Look like its constructed well just a bit big for my tastes even the noppoo on is big in  my book but that because all of these carry more than just your keyboard.

lol after reading some reviews on the noppoo bag i changed my choice to qtan from the quiver to the noppoo. He offers it $5 cheaper than the seller on ebay. I gotta admit that TT bag looks nice but its as big as a normal backpack which i already have. Its also really expensive :[.

I'm also looking for a fullsize keyboard bag. One that can carry the rest of my gear (mice, mouse mat, external HDD etc.) would be a bonus.
I'd more or less thought that my options were limited to either the Razer or the Tt bags.
I can't really remember what the Tt bag looked like, but the Razer one looks OK. I'm glad they kept most of the flashy green inside the bag, so you don't look like a complete wanker when you're carrying it.

Could you be more specific about the quality of the Razer bag? Are you speaking from experience, or just what you've heard?

Also, 100 posts. Yeeaaauuhhh.

You could always get a sneaky bag-

It's made for rifles, but has a divider. You could put your rifle in one side, and your TKL on the other. :D

I bet you could get a second divider and carry 3 keyboards.

OOOOOOORRRRR, you could just buy this case and keep your Krink in it.

Maybe it is time to get out the old sewing skills we all have?

The Question is, what are you looking for in a keyboard bag? What needs to fit? Only a Keyboard, or mouse too and other stuff maybe?
