Title: is 104U suppose to have switchs on the bottom?
Post by: FinancialWar on Thu, 12 January 2012, 14:58:01
I read the review on the 86U it has switch on the bottom to let you instantly remap some keys, how come the 104U I got this morning does not have such a switch?

Only the tenkeyless boards have dip switches. For more info about dip switches, ask ripster.

btw, I thought the 104U and the 87U are supposed to be rare ones. Why is the 104U so cheap these days?

They're not "rare" so much as just not available yet from Elitekeyboards or TheKeyboardCo. So lazy Americans like me can't get them so cheap/easily.

Did you get it from that Australian company (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?25983-PC-Case-Gear-50-off-on-all-Topre-boards) that's having a sale or something?

Check in the Topre wiki what they are used for. On a 104U you don't need them.

Currently my number one contention for carrying the 104 is that I feel it is incomplete. Topre is using a 103U case which does not provide access to the DIP switches - you have to open the keyboard to access what is an advertised feature.

What do you mean I don't need them on the 104U, my caplock and Ctrl are remapped using software, would be nice to have remapped through the keyboard itself.
