Except, it isn't. I thought that too, but I own it and it is quite nice and classy looking in-person. Better than in the photos.

A new Filco ain't a bad thing but I don't know what to think of this.

I don't like the color scheme of this at all and I really like many of the Filco Limited Edition keyboards.

New is not always better.  Filco has a great product.  It's been years since my beloved Focus FK-9000 died, so it's hard to compare, but I'm really enjoying my Filco.  Really, the only thing that detracts are the keys, so changing out the keys would make it a better product, IMHO.  I'll agree though, that changing the color of the keys isn't much improvement.  Changing them to something a bit more tactile (PBT?) and less slippery would kick it up another notch.  Maybe removing the arrow/home/pgup bits too... but on that note, I've been thinking that maybe a full-size keyboard would be better, and I just need to mount my mouse *above* the keyboard, or get a trackpad and mount it below the spacebar....  hrmmm

But wasdkeyboards doesn't have a red keycap with "DRAGON" written on it...  Oh, but they can do custom lasering, can't they?  :-)

I have a feeling this isn't an official model. Looks like a normal mj2 with cheap keycaps just applied onto it. Other than the keycaps there doesn't seem to be any distinct detail that differentiates it from any other normal mj2

Filco limited edition is lazy. Change keycap color only, why bother. Could have made the Filco logo in red at least to set it apart. Should have done something like an emerald green case, you know dragon color.

It seems that all the people that work for these hardware companies have been robbed of their imagination/creativity.  I don't get it.  You have some of the coolest jobs out there yet you have no imagination/creativity.  It has to be that finance/engineering out rules the creative folks.

Ummm... I'm normally a sucker for "Special/Limited" Editions... But this one seriously blows!  Hmmm... Red casing with front printed back keycaps would've at least given the impression that they put some effort into the edition!!!  Pfft.

I have a set of 104 red blanks from Round 3.  I also have a filco.  Why didn't I put them on yet, I could have had this last year!  Filco engineers have beet me to my own ideas.  :-(

I've heard this is an idea by King Keyboard (Gold keyboard if you directly translate the name). So it is a distributor special. Don't knock Filco for this.

Hello. You are correct about this, this Dragon Year limited edition is not an official model, and there's a long story about it.

This version was born in Taiwan (where I live), and was the idea of the owner of a small shop specialized in mechanical keyboard, who I just got acquainted a few months ago.  This owner is the largest distributor of Filco's product in Taiwan. Let's just call him Mr. Sun. Of course, Mr. Sun has good relation with Filco's agent in Taiwan.

As you might have known, this year is the so called Dragon Year in traditional Chinese calendar. Just one week before the eve of the Chinese new year, Mr. Sun suddenly came with this idea: a limited edition keyboard for the Dragon Year! Then he gave Filco's agent in Taiwan a phone call, and told him about how he wants this keyboard to be, and the agent agreed to produce it, even in a very small quantity. This all happened in a rush. A week later this keyboard was born, as what you see it now: red key caps with black cover.

However, the agent also promised Mr. Sun another thing: since it was originally Mr. Sun's idea about this limited edition, Mr. Sun is allowed to sell another version of this keyboard, in a total quantity of 50 units. By the way, I've switched the original ESC key with a yellow one, which I consider more fitted with this keyboard.

I remember some kid asked the owner at Golden Keyboard: "What is so good about Cherry Corp brand?"
The owner replied: "Because it is made in Germany."  And the kid decided to swallow his words and bought a Cherry brand board that costs as much as a Filco (if not more) in Asia.

I wouldn't go to him for keyboard opinions lol.

That is only one of Ducky problems. Spend more time here and you will understand why Ducky are rarely recommended around here.

PS. Filco alignment only occurs on TKL model. If comparing TKL to TKL. Ducky 1087 is utter rubbish.

Yeah I have done my research and sifting through GH as well as owning a Ducky... and yes I can't vouch for the 1xxx (I never really did) but I can for their 9xxx range... it's been flawless for me since day one.  

  Still the misalignment is still a fault in the TKL Filco's but I'm not going to constantly condemn them for it.  And at the same time I can say the same: the shoddiness of Ducky's occurs on their TKL model.  

Don't take me too seriously mate, I said what I said to you in jest, condescending jest, but jest all the same (with a touch of truth chucked in ;))
