I need to order a set for myself.
They are only $8 from Keyboardco but the shipping is a killer.
I am considering just ordering 10 sets or more to make it worthwhile and helping others out at the same time.
Cost for the keycaps alone is approx $8. Shipping from the UK is approx $24 so for each set figure $2.50 overseas shipping. Then shipping from me to anyone in the US will be about $3.00 for USPS 1st class. Add a $1.00 for a bubble mailer. And Paypal will take a bit for themselves as well (about $1.00)....
With all that I think $18 a set is reasonable?
Anyone interested?

How about making a group buy ?
-
I'm down, but make a group buy instead.
-
I'm also down for a set or gb
-
So are we gonna do this?
-
I'm down for a group buy.
-
I'm also down to buy, but I want to buy multiple things if thats okay with the OP or whoever is going to run the group buy.
We should allow people to purchase WASD keys (blue or red), ESC keys, cable ties, and key pullers. Shipping will be alot easier for those items.
-
He hasn't responded yet :S
-
Hmm, $18 for a red Filco WASD set.
Doesn't that come out to four and half dollars a key cap?
-
Guess so. Much of that is shipping. That's why a group buy would help lower the cost by a fair bit. Think keyboard co would give a discount if we buy like 50 sets?
-
Unless I am missing something. It should be $8 including shipping, right? The keycaps themselves are only 5 pounds.
-
If this is open for other itens I'm down too!
-
After 10 the rate of shipping goes from 14.78 to 10.51 - 11 sets of these comes to $101.67 USD shipped (65.40 pounds). Which comes to $9.25 before shipping even with that $13.25 if you add $3+1 for bubble mailer. I have been lazy to make a group buy because I fear getting stuck with a bunch of these. Can we get a real interest check?
-
I email keyboardco for a price check on these keys, just waiting for a response
-
If no one else wants to do it, I can set up a small GB. I've never done one before, mostly out of lack of opportunity. But I can certainly facilitate all of us getting this :) If someone else wants to do it then by all means go for it!
-
Go for it Hatsuharu! I would volunteer but me being out of the USA or Europe automatically disqualifies me. ):
-
I wouldnt mine doing it. I'm just waiting for a response from KeyboardCo on a bulk price list.
should I setup a [Interest check] or wait for a response from KB Co?
-
Are you planning to make other keys available?
-
I'm currently waiting on the quote for red "WASD"
also thinking about adding:

Maybe the yellow version

If you do it - request to add Tux: http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=903
Getting that was probably the main reason I was willing to host the GB. Haha.

Once I get an email back from them we can take it from there

Let's move discussion to http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?26508-Interest-Check-Keycaps-Stuff-from-Keyboard-Company&p=497817 as this has essentially become a non-classified thread haha
-
Why are these keys so desirable? Is it just because they're not available in the US very easily?
I thought I read somewhere that the stock Leopold keycaps were of higher quality than the Filco and if so that really doesn't reconcile with the demand of these keycaps. I'm not trying to be obtuse, just trying to gain an understanding.
Thanks!

are the leo keys blank?

are the leo keys blank?
Leopold keyboards come with lettering or blank/otaku, buyer's choice.
