Title: KBC Poker (MX Blue) & Ducky DK1087N (Alps Green)
Post by: tonytuannguyen on Tue, 24 January 2012, 11:10:50
Hey GH,

I am trying to build up some funds to buy another HHKB Pro2. So with much regret, I am resorting to selling my Poker and Ducky

Here it is:

How do these 2 boards compare in typing feel? Which one requires less force to type on?

I'm getting conflicting info about Green ALPS: This says tactile/clicky (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?26233-Ducky-DK1087-ALPS-Green-switches-Clicky-amp-Tactile) but ripsters ALPS wiki (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=ALPS+switches) mentions only Green Linear.

EDIT: Contacted OP and these are definitely tactile and clicky.

IMO, blues need less force.

Looks like ripster is not the #1 keyboard expert. Wrong info in the wiki? :suspicious:

Vintage green alps are linear, these new ones are clicky. Anyway, I'd like to hear comparison info from folks who have tried the Ducky XM and a blues board side by side.

I think that he just doesn't have any info on Green simplified ALPS.  Everything I see with green comes up under Complicated.

Ah.  I especially like your corollaries.  They add that special ripster touch. :behindsofa:

I know Demilk said the mx blue felt like it has a littler force but I thought the Alps had the littler force. The Alps seem to have a slightly louder audible click than the MX Blue. Both of the feels and sounds great. Call me crazy but I preferred the ducky over the poker. ;-) Then came the HHKB Pro 2 but that's a totally different story.
