as the thread title says im looking to purchase a realforce 86u/87u or a tenkeyless majestouch w/ red switchs from reputable members only
payment will be sent via paypal, i live in canada
pm or leave a post plz!
-
Oh hey TT1 :D I got a plu with reds, not a filco though :( welcome to geekhack :D
-
hihi ty, i was actually thinking about buying a leopold w/ reds instead of a filco(just because its much more accessible) but i ended up going with the filco because its harder to come by which gives it +++++ points on its sex appeal : D, plus ive read that the stabilizers on the filco are better, the only thing that the leopold had going for it was the durability of its keycaps but im planning to switch the keycaps with pbt caps anywho
im currently gaming on a noppoo choc mini w/ red switchs and im extremely satisfied with the board but ive always wanted to test a filco/topre out
-
I agree I that the stabilizers on a filco are better, and I love my filco its pretty damn awesome :D make sure to pick up some awesome key caps as well like the bad ass starcraft race logos and the team liquid one we did a while back as well

also i was just wondering, feedback score = the amount of time a member has sold a product correct?
-
How many transactions actually. Can be buy sell or trade.

Also most people dont leave feedback to often so take the numbers with a grain of salt.
-
Didnt know u already had a nopoo mini. If you've already typed on reds and blacks then topre is naturally the next switch I think.
-
yea but the only thing that im worried about is that topre's arnt actually ment for gaming and thats wat im gonna use it for, i think i might get annoyed by the mult-actuation force version if i do end up buying a topre, the uniform-actuation force vers would probably be better for gaming
-
Why not just get a Rosewill RK-9000?
They are rebadged Filco Majestouch and are alot easier to obtain than a Filco w/ red switches.
plus, i think that filcos are stupidly overpriced.
-
so im gonna buy oneproduct's 86u, turns out we actually go to the same school and live in the same area hahaha, wat are the odds : D
-
Are you the actual TT1? cuz if you are, i'm a big fan of yours :D
-
i am and ty <3

Let us know how the variable is for gaming at the pro level :D
-
def will do, as of now the variable weights seem ok cus i like hotkeying my units on the first 2 keys(which are both lighter than the other keys, ive heard that theyre 35g and 40g) whereas i use all the other keys for my buildings(3 to 0)
-
was that the 86U from demik that came from me?

tossed around like a dirty woman....
I think they're 30g and 45g for 1 & 2
-
If it was the same one, it came from lopan, which he imported from South Korea a while back. The 86U has taken a lot of our Topre virginities!
-
30g for 1 40g for 2 45g for the rest of the keys

My twitter and geekhack lives are coming together. Next thing I know, you're going to reply to a thread I'm in on reddit and I just don't know what I'll do then.
Best of luck, TT1! Hope to see a lot more of you as the tourney season gears up :D
-
TT1, as a fan of yours and of realforce keyboards, I'm happy to see your new purchase. Let us know how you like it, okay?
Good luck in the pro scene!

You should do a shout-out to geekhack on your twitter because it is where you found your new keyboard :-)
-
Don't think I saw many (any?) SC2 progamers using Realforce keyboards. TT1, please make Realforce users proud!

Nope, Gerk bought mine.

yea thats cus almost every team is either sponsored by razer or ss, i got fed up with my old gear so i decided to look around for some new stuff ^.^
and i promise that i made that tweet before seeing reptile's post!
first impressions of the weighted keys until now: its harder to double tap the first 2 hotkeys(1 and 2) because u dont feel them bottoming out as opposed to 3-0, for someone like me who likes to hotkey their nexus's(i hotkey them from 3 to 0) i like the feel of double tapping hotkeys when i want to switch between bases, luckily my building hotkeys are from 3 to 0 which fall into the 45g keys so that worked out well, it still woulda been nice if i were able to bottom out on the 1st 2 keys but its not that big of deal because those my unit control groups
if i rly cant get used to the feel ill prob trade this board + some cash for a 87u 45g uniform board, after feeling topre keys i dont think i could ever play on another keyboard 8D

We got another one...
-
actually SK.MC (for me he will always be "suicidetoss") owns a Topre keyboard, but it seems like he prefers playing on his Q-Senn DT for whatever reason
-
AAAAAH might have to think twice about breaking my keyboard in half after losing a match now
edit: hihi dalai ^^

Every so often somebody buys a 45g and decides they want variable weight, so you might be able to do this trade without much effort. Glad you like the topre board so far though. The keys really do feel sooooooooo nice.

Welcome! I'm also a fan of yours. You should come hang out with us scrubs on bnet in channel "geekhack". :)
Topre switches are delicious, I'll be interested to hear what you think after playing on them for a while.
-
I had no idea there is a geekhack channel on bnet. Will have to check it out next time I log in.
-
Hi TT1 !:)
Welcome to geekhack! Nice seeing you are one of "us" now.
I owned a realforce 86u variable (sold it to hashbaz) and now own a realforce 88ub uniform 45g. I had the same issues with the 30g keys as you(1-3 are my unitgroups).
For me the all 45g realforce is by far the better keyboard when it comes to gaming. I even prefer it for typing over the variable.
My favorite switch for SC2 it still the MX Red (with O-rings) by a quite large margin. Nothing feels like playing SC2 on my Filco Linear-R with white engraved PBTs and the very limited TeamLiquid-Doubleshot as ESC!
-
I'm typing on DalaiLamer's 86U right now. :)
For Starcraft, I like keyboards that make a racket. Lately I've been using my ridiculously loud clicky green-Alps Ducky.
-
Glad to see you still like it !!!! (I just love your TL-key^^)
I was only able to try cherry blues and buckling springs for starcraft and loved the apm-spamming-sound-rhythm ... unfortunately the doubletap-issue of blues and the high actuation force of the BS made my play significantly slower :-(
But I can really understand your love for "racket" keyboards :)
