I'm about to order a Filco on Amazon and I need to know the difference between a few Filcos I found. What is the difference between, this (http://www.amazon.com/Majestouch-2-Tenkeyless-Linear-Keyboard-FKBN87ML/dp/B005JC4Q4U/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1327799843&sr=8-24) and this (http://www.amazon.com/Majestouch-2-Tenkeyless-Linear-Keyboard-FKBN87ML/dp/B005JC4QLS/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1327799843&sr=8-25). Is there other cheaper places where I can buy Filcos MJ2 TKL with other switch types for similar prices or should I save some $ and buy a Leopold?

If you look on the classifieds im sure you could find a kbc poker or a noppo choc :)
-
I've already tried, most of the browns are sold. I would buy a blue but I don't like clickys.

Turn the tunes up.

'Bout a month ago, EK had ~3 B stock TKL browns for 80 bucks IIRC. Replaced the LEDS in the caplox in them, they said. No clue if they still have them, worth an email, though.

Not turning any music up at night. My family will be annoyed by all the clicks and if I turn my music up, my house will be shaking and my family will not be able to sleep.

Anymore info on who's EK? Sorry I'm not really good with keyboard terms or usernames.

Elite Keyboards (http://www.elitekeyboards.com), it's a web store for mech boards.

Repurposed thread. Bump.

Bump, any help? White noppoo choc mini vs kbc race?
-
I haven't used either but I would go for the choc mini purely because it is plate mounted.
-
cm storm quickfire browns should be in stock at US retailers in a few days
-
One more question, how is Leopold Tenkeyless Linear Touch compared to the noppoo choc mini in terms of build quality?
-
Help please? :)

the only think that I can see that differ these two keyboard a part is the Ninja version have the Keycaps print on the side and not on the top of the Keycaps..

Doh. I missed that. I guess that's why it's called "ninja". Does anyone know the quality of the keycaps? Will the keys start fading after a few weeks of use?

Not a few weeks but eventually.
Yes they are both ABS plastic. The ninja would probably last longer with the sideprinting but would still get shiny after time. That is why you buy new keycaps anyways :-)

I'm not made of money. :( How does your noppoo choc mini compare to your filco mj2?

no if you get ninjas ;)

You get what you pay for. How much you are ready to spend?
-
$150 is the most I am willing to spend.
-
Then you can get a Filco with standard ABS keycaps.
-
why not get the cheaper one and use the money to buy Black PBT keycaps? white filco + black keycaps would looks sick.
-
Or buy a white Leopold for $100-110 and add on $40 of keycaps down the road if/when your keys become distressingly shiny.
Thing is, any and all plastic will eventually show wear. Certain kinds will hang onto the characters longer, like lasered keys, or even permanently, like doubleshots, but plastic turns shiny. It's a sad truth and I'm not aware of any keycap tech that can avoid it forever.
That said, buying $40 of the best keycaps possible for a very good $100 isn't a bad investment at all.
Only thing with the Leopold: it's got Cherry stabilizers rather than Costar, so your modifier keys and space will feel different. Most people don't mind. . . some think it's the worst thing in the history of the universe.
---------
Edit: Hell, get a Rosewill RK-9000 off of Newegg or Amazon for ~$100-110 and you'll even have Costar-style stabilizers and a very effective, quality Filco clone for $50 less. Still might have issues with keycaps down the line, but now your savings can buy you better ones if and when you decide it's worthwhile. Which you might not, really.
Point being, even though I love Filcos with all my heart and soul, that doesn't make them the be-all end-all of keyboards. Just very, very good :)
-
Haha you don't get the Filco quality with the Rosewill. All you get are fake stabilizers, ugly logo, and poor QA.
