Title: How do you guys travel with your Poker? What do you carry it in?
Post by: whiskerBox on Thu, 26 January 2012, 12:47:19: Hey guys I recently got a KBC Poker( a little late in the game) and I am trying to figure out a solution to carrying it in my messenger bag i.e. sleeve or case. Any suggestions?

Post by: Gawkbasher on Thu, 26 January 2012, 12:50:45: I'm a (soon to be) new Poker owner and am really sad I missed out on those aluminum backs. I think for travel I might end up building an acrylic box for it. It's actually fairly trivial to assemble one (cut to size, "weld" with acetone, etc). What I think I might do with mine though is make a slide out top...so one of the sides of the box will have to fit into grooves in the two other sides.

I would be interested in seeing better solutions though.

It has a nice slot for laptop that's padded, so I put it there when I'm not carrying my tablet as well.

Ya and I am looking for more of a soft case myself, so that I can put it in my bag.

Then just use Bondo to make it rigid. I keep mine in the original micro-foam sleeve.

The "short" size is the right one for the HHKB, correct?

I actually received that for Xmas but left it at moms house out of state because I didn't want to fly with the sharp objects. When I get it I might convert it :-)

I was hesitant to spend $50 on a sleeve, but I am really glad that I did because the quality is amazing and I don't think there is anything else on the market as nice as this.

The aluminum poker fits quite nicely in there and no problem with the feet. I only wish the case was about an inch longer and that the buckle strap was also about an inch longer, but other then that it is perfect and I even have room to shove a cable in there.

Thanks I bought it from feng. it is a navy blue KBC space bar I believe and I think he also offers them in red,yellow and possibly another color in his sale thread.

The U is from a retro set that I am trying to get all the pieces too. I believe the company ships those sleeves internationally but I know that international shipping is expensive.
