Title: how do i used poker? esc-lock?
Post by: mkawa on Fri, 27 January 2012, 12:09:58
so, I gave in and bought a poker. it's awesome but ANYWAY

my understanding is that FN-Q is supposed to invert the the behavior of the backtick/tilde key such that backtick becomes ESC and FN-backtick becomes backtick. my problem is that FN-Q is currently only locking backtick to ESC such that FN-backtick is also ESC. i swear to god it was doing this right yesterday, but today it's totally weird. am i doing something wrong? (dips, perhaps? currently they're all off)

ps, bonus question: what does DIP4 do?

As far as I'm aware (as a fellow poker owner) it just switches it completely.
As fossala said, bit annoying.

its better to map this default functionality in software than rely on these goofy alt modes. The alt modes reset when it loses power anyways. If you're using Windows, use Autohotkey, for Mac KeyRemap4macbook. There's scripts in these forums that can help you get what you want :)

Esc lock don't work as intended, there was a error in the firmware and they never fix it. If you put esc lock on, it is esc only and loose the ` while its mode is on. If you actually need ` ~ for something, might remap it to caps lock or somewhere. It never bother me as I don't use that ~ key, except to go in a game devconsole or something which is almost never.
Dipswitch 4 disable win left.
Dipswitch 3 make right win key an alt / altgr.
Dipswitch 2 switch caps lock and left control.
Dipswitch 1 make win left to fn left
