Did Cherry eventually switch to using all non-stepped Caps Lock keycaps, or were they only for specific models?

only specific models. POS mostly.

Yeah it was done that way for specific models.
I actually have one from a G80-8113 HRBUS which is a POS board.
White on black doubleshot.
