Can I get a What What ?
You know , out of the 3 types of switches I've tried, I have to say that I like the browns the best of all of them. Don't get me wrong. The blues are nice to type on for long periods of time. ( I don't write books )
The reds are ok. I can't really fault them much as they feel a bit like browns but I feel like I really need to bottom out on them every time to feel good about the key stroke. Nothing wrong with this either but it just didn't feel as crisp to me. I mainly play fps and they were fine for that but I often found myself mistyping ALOT when trying to chat during the game and in a big hurry.
The browns are just .... awesome. Hell the only reason I made this pointless post was to make a point to be able to type this post out on my browns. I like to type on them and they are perfectly fine for FPS games and the tactile bump is not all that noticeable.
To be honest I think I could have adjusted to the reds and been ok with it , but using the blues at work then coming home and using the reds I felt like the change was just so drastic on a day to day basis.

Are those plate mounted or PCB mounted browns? Also, what brand is your keyboard?
-
Look at the sig, brah
and agreed about the browns. they be the win

Hmm, and here I was ready to get the Red Cherry version of the Quickfire Rapid when it finally hit the North American market.
Hell, maybe I'll just collect all the CM Storm keyboards and I have a nice pallette of switches to choose from. :heh:

BROWS FOREVER.
I'm gonna get a tattoo of a brown switch.
Not really, but you get the idea.
-
ewwww brown fingers.
/typed on a brown board.

Don't know if trolling...
Anyway, I will give OP a WHAT WHAT!
= D
I love my browns too <3

I have one red, two browns, and one blue. Still use the Filco brown at work most of the time
-
I use MX Browns at work daily, and I love them.
I love both MX Browns and Blues equally, though. Browns are like good, practical all-rounders, whereas Blues are more like a luxury. Kind of like the difference between a Hilux and a sports car, I guess.
I haven't tried Topres, so much choice of luxury keyswitch is provisional for the moment, of course.

+1 for browns as my first mechanical keyboard!
Might try blues next...

Coming from brown, I am currently on blacks. I have to say I like mx black quite a bit. However, I wouldn't say which one is better...they are both likable lol..

Yeah, just got my first mech. board with browns. I love them too, but I wouldn't mind something a bit heavier - they're actually a lot lighter to type on than my old keyboard was. I'm going to look into blue or black for my next keyboard though..

Yeah I would be pissed if someone next to me used blues. My friend sometimes comes over to code with me and he brings his cherry g80 with blues and I find it hella distracting. It sounds like crackeling plastic
-
Last year I lived with 2 flatmates. One of which had the BlackWidow. I would just top him by typing harder on my >RUBBER DOME<.
That was before my mechanical keyboards.

While I prefer reds for gaming, to me, browns cannot be beat for work/typing.
-
The sound of blues is therapeutic to me. Although, browns are just godly. Feel, sound, all around usefulness, can't be beat.

As for being an ******* , I resemble that comment ! Although I'm not in a cubicle, our office doors are facing each other across a small hallway so I'm sure it's still a bit loud. I think they have adjusted to it now although I'm still trying to find a great deal on a super duper cheap set of browns for here at work. I saw some Compaq11800 but I don't know if I can handle that monster of a board on my desk. I do still like the blues , but if not using them at work then I wouldn't get much use of them period as my second PC is in the living room and mainly used by my daughter.
Not so sure I would like the blues in there when trying to watch TV and she's click-clicking in the midst of it. Blues are one of those things where they are not a big deal when YOU are the one making the clicking. But when someone else is doing it , It would probably drive me bat**** ?

Browns are awesome!
Though most of my dev is on an RF right now ...

Also +1 for mx brown switches. I have only tried blues before, very recently browns. I love them both, but maybe brown is ahead by a little. Now I want to try the other 10 (more?) types of switches out there... what have I gotten myself into?

Into a desire for decadency.

Yes! Blacks ftw! I prefer blacks more then browns.
-
I honestly don't have any desire to try any other switches at moment as I am very content with the Blues and Browns.
-
Aw, yeah, brown love.
I'm hammering this out on a Rosewill blue, but my Ninja brown is right above it, waiting, waiting. It knows it's The One.

I just bought a Razer Blackwidow and a Steelseries 6Gv2 for a really good deal of only $70.
I mainly wanted to buy a blue switch board, the Steelseries is just extra.
But after comparing both boards for a while, I actually prefer the Cherry MX blacks for typing!! Kinda odd, but I like it because when you don't bottom out the keys, not only it doesn't take much force to press, the stiff sping actually provides a damping effect that gives a gentle feel to the switch. Blue and brown switches, on the other hand, is a bit more difficult not to bottom out, which gives you a harsh landing feedback, sending a shock back to your fingers. Not comfortable.
The feel of the Blue switch is immediately addictive, while the brown addiction is chronic but very hard to get off.
Yet the feel of the black switch has a miraculous healing effect, like the smile your guardian angel.
