Hi, my first mech keyboard (filco mx brown) is at my local post office, but is being held for customs charges... Has anyone else experienced this? :(

My Clickclacks from 4Grabs had been held at the customs department and i had to go there and pay EUSt (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/EUSt) for them :(
First tought they where lost in the mail but i guess customs take their time and inform late xD

Main reason why I prefer to buy used in the classified. I rarely buy stuff brand new nowadays, customs are really expensive here in Canada

my keyboard from pchome is in customs as well since yesterday; Is this normal? I hear about people getting their packages in ~4 business days while some have to wait weeks for customs to clear up. Do all international packages go through customs?

Every international package into the US goes through customs/border control.  A random selection of shipments are gone through with a fine tooth comb.  Perhaps yours is one that has been selected for review.  A company I've purchased from in the past recently had one of their shipments detained in customs for the first time.  This incurred a 3week delay.  This was a full container shipment and they've had many of these pass through the same customs location in less than 3 days.

all international packages go through customs, most just get flagged through because of lazy people or if they use a dedicated courier that usually clears customs before even entering the country, it took mine 5 days to get through, but it all depends on how many items they need to check :(

reptile put a check box on merchandise, usually in the classifieds just checking gift makes it faster through customs and removes charges :)

Wow, that sucks. I remember when I got my ducky I was rather happy I wasn't charged. I'm really not sure how common this is.
