I'm looking for this as a birthday gift to myself- my first mechanical keyboard! I will be primarily using this for Starcraft 2, and i'm not really set in stone which switch type to get- anything which would perform well in starcraft 2. I just want something quality which will last a while.
Thanks!

Read this thread (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?26785-Tenkeyless-MX-Blues-keyboard) then come back and give a little more info :)

You should probably include a budget.

"Very glad" spammer???

Whoops. Sorry about that- I should have included a budget. I would like the keyboard's shipped price to be under ~$90.
I'm liking the Noppoo choc mini from what I have read- but any quality Tenkeyless that doesnt have blue switches I am interested in.
Thanks.

I would say that with a budget of ~$90 you may be able to get a Leopold second-hand from someone.

PM'd you

Actually EK is selling red Leopolds new for $90 right now! :)
You'd probably ahve to pay shipping though, but those keyboards are solid.
-
Also if you like the CMStorm style a little waiting might get the non-blue choices more available.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago at the sale price. With the non-printed lavender wasd set and a wire key puller it was $111.11 shipped. I think it's a great board.

I think the leopold with shipping totals a bit out of my price range. I'm really interested in the noppoo choc mini with black switches it comes to $92 shipped from

Thanks for the replies btw, this is a very nice forum.

So shipping prices for keyboards from qtan is around $18? Good to know. For ~$10 more you could get the Leopold though.
You don't want TT1's noppoo that's listed FS here?
Edit: Shipping costs for my Leopold, to Colorado, was $12.61.

I PMed him but he hasn't responded- guess he doesnt want to sell it to me. The leopold looks really good, but I wish it had black switches instead of red... How are the reds for sc2?

It's only been a couple of hours. He's a busy guy, give him time. :)

Woah, hold up there bro, MX Black switches for gaming? I can't recommend that. I would say reds or browns. I do A LOT of gaming, and blacks are just too tiring, and I have big, strong manly fingers. So reconsider this plan. That's my advice.
As for keyboard, Noppoo Choc Mini is good choice. But since you are willing to go mini: check out the KBC Poker 40%, also from Qtan on ebay.com. It is a great little gaming keyboard. Comes in browns and reds. Maybe blacks too, idk. But price is right at $84.

My red Leo is for sale right now... Thing is basically brand new, doing $90 shipped if your in the con-us.

I don't know, maybe your hands aren't as strong as you think :), or you just don't prefer blacks. Maybe if they have too much resistance it won't even be a problem, just a workout for my fingers haha. I've also read a lot of people consider red switches to be too light, so it seems too subjective. I wish I had a way to test out the three before I buy, but I'm really leaning towards black switches at this point.
The Poker I looked at, but it simply doesn't have enough keys- I need separate function keys.
Is qtan's store the best place to buy a new noppoo?

I've got a Leopold TKL with MX browns if you're interested.
Details: Otaku keycap set, medium usage (a few shiny keycaps and shiny spacebar), capslock LED doesn't appear to turn on but functionality is still fully working. Warranty is still available through EK (few months left).

Granted I don't play a lot of RTS but when I have I find my self not using the keys like I do in an FPS. The OP does mention that this is for Starcraft 2 so I would take a gander that a black switch keyboard would be a closer fit in this situation.
