Title: IBM SSK with original box
Post by: Larry Dallas on Tue, 31 January 2012, 19:18:50
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220941446713&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123#ht_500wt_1413

This is not really a great find, it's just that this price seems kind of ridiculous. It's not listed as NIB, the listing just says it appears to be unused. I bought one off ebay a couple months ago and after I took it apart to affirm that all the rivets were intact and cleaned it up, it doesn't look used, either. Even if it were NIB, once you take it out of the box and use it, it's a used product. Since a new Model M probably doesn't work much better than a used one, buying NIB means you have something that's better left sitting on a shelf until you sell it. And this keyboard doesn't even come with a cord. Is there something I'm not seeing here? If someone here bought it, can you explain why?

Like I said, all it takes is 2 willing bidders to bid the price up.  The winning price is always one unit increment over the second highest bid.

Oh, does that mean it's the FRU (not retail)? I read somewhere they didn't come with cords. Luckily unicomp is there to rescue us.
