Is this hand carved or machined? I wonder how thick it is, or how the stem is made/carved.

I am unsure of the answers to your question because the translations from korean are not very good. They also had a Ebony one pictured on a filco.

Hmm, I don't like it. I mean, it looks really nice, but as a materials guy, I just can't abide having the grain (weakest part) being in the worst-direction possible. I'd be too afraid of it cracking!
