Can someone explain me what the heck are those SP's Grab Bags? Was it lots of keycaps that SP gave away?

SP offered bags of 1000 random keycaps for $10 that were extras from past production. They sorted a few bags (like white on black only, color caps only, etc) and were in limited supply. People are realizing that 1000 keycaps is too much to sort through and they would rather resell the whole bag :)

I sorted through and found interesting ones that I liked in about an hour.  I understand why people are unhappy but I don't understand the expectations here.

I plan to do something cool/weird with the rest of the keycaps and liberal use of epoxy.
