Title: HHKB PRO 2 for Realforce.
Post by: fossala on Tue, 07 February 2012, 11:00:05
I am looking at trading my HHKB Pro 2 (My avatar board) for a realforce. I have fallen in love with my HHKB and topre switches but am having problems with switching between it and my other keyboards due to layout. So to make my life easy I will just trade for a realforce (USA layout) Money may be available for an 87 and will expect some money on top for a 103.
If anyone wants to just buy it from me as they are not available in EU I will take 200gbp as it will enable me to buy a 86u from thekeyboardco.
Only interested in Variable weighted and only pm me if your board is in very good/perfect condition with box.

I love the layout, even more than ANSI. It saddens me to let it go, but I get easily confused.

Come on people have learned to switch qwerty/dvorak and vim/emacs. You can do this! :)

With the 3 Realforces I own I still go back to my HHKB every time when I want to type on a Topre board, definitely my favourite layout out of all the keyboards I own

I did move from qwerty to dvorak and vim to emacs, how did you know.

OK, I will give it another week. It's not that I don't like the layout, I love it. It's just the swapping between sun type5 and ansi that is the problem.

If anyone is interested pm me but I won't be making a final decision for another week as it will be hard for me to get my hands on one again.

The solution is obvious. Get rid of everything else and get more HHKBs.

Blanks except the yellow windows key. Couldn't get a blank yellow set.

Where do you get those keys?
Just from Realforces?

Grrrr, fossala, if this had been a white HHKB I'd have swapped you my mint white 86U in a heartbeat!

Still temping even though it's black.

P.s., Let me know if you decided that you still want to swap the HHKB for a RF, I really want to try a HHKB.

GBP 200 is only slightly less than EKs price but total to the UK would cost loads more since you have to add postage and then customs/VAT. I have roughly calculated that it will cost me another 60-70 to actually get it into my hands. I'm still saving up for my HHKB but when I'm ready I may organise a group buy and see if we can shave some of the US to UK postage costs.

From EK to the UK including tax and shipping it is £272.62. So 200gbp would be a saving of 272.62.

Man I gotta say I knew this was coming from the time I read your post in "It's in the mail". I asked so many people, the reason you're selling, is the reason I went RF over HKKB :(

GLWS.

I love topre and will keep using them rather than cherry, just the HHKB layout still doing my head in because I have to use "normal" keyboards at work for paperwork.
