I'd be happy to do this for you for nothing more than what you're actually going to pay out of pocket. I'm in Denver, Colorado.
-
Tips for shipping:
-Anything declared as a gift under $60 won't be charged duties. If you don't list it as a gift the limit is $20.
-USPS first class costs about $17 for tenkeyless keyboards which is much better than the $27 for USPS priority.
-
Another tip - you can't get First class postage via usps.com :)
-
Neither bring tracking either.
You want tracking, it's EMS which I believe starts at 35.

I thought it was $50, not much difference I guess

Thats why you ship out through eBay, always get tracking and you get first class international :ooo
Sell something every 60 days and just go print new shipping label and change the address and presto, cheap shipping always with tracking!

frree money here~

Right, you have to go to an actual post office. You can get a quote online though.

$17 seems low. Last time I sent a TKL to Canada it cost $28 through first class.
-
16 is priority mail small box flat rate
-
I just sent a package to someone here in the US and they requested Parcel Post because it's cheaper. Does USPS not do Parcel Post to Canada?
I wouldn't suggest going as low as Media Mail even if they do that to Canada too.

Also, I doubt anybody would believe that a keyboard could be read like a book.

You have to go parcel post since the most you can send via first class mail is 13oz, and I'm going to assume the keyboard weighs more then 13oz

You can. But its very slow. I sent a Corsair H50 to canada via the cheapest method. I think it took a couple weeks or more.

I'd be willing to redirect for you (I have Prime so I could get it here quick and cheap) and I'd only charge actual cost of product + actual cost of shipping. Sounds like you'll end up paying $180 or so in the end. I would require payment up front, but my heatware is 45+ all positive (http://heatware.com/eval.php?id=59557) with some high dollar items, so there's no real reason for concern. I'm a very active trader at [H]ardForum for several years now. PM me if interested.

Yeah, I would expect it to be much slower but when I ship I prefer to let the buyer choose the method and decide what trade-off they're willing to deal with. Less money and slower or more money and faster. But as the shipper sometimes there's a limit to how low I'm willing to go for both our sakes.

I hate shipping something when its going to take 3 weeks. Just seems like theres too much room for screw up in all that time.
-
where are you guys getting your ship rates lol.
a filco tkl weighs in about 1.4KG, that's a little more than 3 Lbs.
how any of you are going to send it 1st class international is BEYOND me.
It also will not fit into a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate box, so whatever rate you got from that you can throw out.
as i learned last week, the TKL's fit fine in a Medium Flat Rate box. Medium flat rate from USA to Canada is $33 bucks. for 3 lbs 5 oz, i ran the calculator for me and priority mail is $30.90

In my own defense, I never quoted a price for shipping.

my comment was a general comment towards a bunch of people saying it only cost XX dollars to ship to canada
also shipping filcos that weigh over 1 lb by 1st class mail.
-
You can go parcel mail instead of priority mail, a lot cheaper if I remember correctly, you can go up to 4lbs for parcel mail

I bought a Filco TKL from the classifieds here and had it shipped to me in Canada from the US for $17 using USPS first class, so I'm speaking from experience.
From Amazon:
Product Dimensions: 14 x 5.3 x 1.3 inches ; 2.2 pounds
Shipping Weight: 3 pounds (View shipping rates and policies)
You can send up to 4 pounds using first class mail international https://www.usps.com/send/first-class-international.htm?
Only 13 ounces for first class mail (non-international).
Edit:
On the online estimate, a 3 pound package with: Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36"
is $12.55. http://ircalc.usps.com/MailServices.aspx?country=10054&m=6&p=3&o=0
When the Filco TKL was shipped to me it was a bit over 3 pounds, but less than 4. 4 pounds at $15.95 with tax should be about $17.

lol @ all the misinformation in this thread.
FYI, USPS first class international can go up to 4 pounds. The 13oz rule only applies to domestic mail within the US, but shipping from US to Canada can have a max weight of 4lbs for first class, which is the cheapest shipping option for USPS, which is also much cheaper than international Fedex or UPS. Last time I shipped a full sized Filco last week, the whole package including the keyboard, caps, and thick packaging was a tad under 4 pounds. a TKL version should also be less than 4 pounds, so shipping price will be between $12.55 - $15.95, depending on exact weight of the TKL + packaging. Basically oneproduct was correct.
-
Btw, I'm also willing to forward stuff from amazon to Canada for free if anyone else wants stuff from keyboardco/amazon. Just PM me.
-
I stand corrected :-)
Btw never use fedex as they charge customs fees.
