Goooood deal. Not sure if the $60 MSRP on amazon is correct though. Any feedback on this mouse for those that already have it?

I've read a lot of mixed things about the Spawn, but it seems like most people think it is great for claw grip, but you have to upgrade the firmware. I also read that it works best at 1800 DPI and 250 mhz, but I need to confirm that... (I'll edit this if I find different). When trying to see if there was an advantage to buying the Xornet, I basically found none. The only reason people seem to buy the Xornet is to save a few bucks, they feel like they don't need higher DPI than that, or they want the black color... Some people say the Spawn sensor is better.
Anyways, I wonder if all of these rebates/sales mean that they are going to be discontinued...maybe replaced...???

Great deal on an amazing claw-grip mouse.
To save me time from having to type it all over again,
Favorite mouse thread:
Not a lot of love for the CM Storm Spawn after reading through the thread, just a little here and there, but not enough!
*a very large picture was here*
Bought this little guy after a lot of recommendations as a great claw grip mouse with a pretty good sesnor. Decided to pair it with an Artisan Hien mousepad. I love the overall feel of the mouse, best parts being the rubberized grip on the thumb side and the rest of the ring finger. Using any other mouse feels awkward now days. FW32 seems to be the best combination for me. Lift-off distance is greatly improved over the stock firmware; any movement doesn't register if the mouse isn't touching the pad.
It's a great improvement over the Razer Deathadder that I used to have. Since both mice have the same DPI, it was a quick adjustment after getting used to the new form factor.
Best RTS mouse with no acceleration thread:
Yep, DA can be clawed but after trying the Spawn, there's no way I'm ever going back to a DeathAdder. The contact point where my palm touched the DA was a little awkward for me due to the shape of the mouse. Also found the mouse a little on the heavy side; couldn't move it as fast as I wanted it to.
CM marketed the Spawn for claw-grippers, and it sure delivers. Heard so many good things about the mouse that I had to give it a try. When it arrived, it didn't disappoint. The ring finger rest is nice; was a little hard to adjust to at first, but now it's become such a welcome addition that I don't want to use another mouse. Having the top and side buttons customizable have made StarCraft II a lot more "functional" for me. I can now map 7-0 on the mouse since I was having problems comfortably reaching past 6 on the keyboard. Still adjusting to the top buttons, but used to the side buttons for the DA.
Only thing I'll give props to on the DA over the Spawn was the large side buttons. That's the feature(s) I miss the most. The Spawn's side buttons are much smaller and a lot more "dainty" than the DA's. The side buttons are a little harder to push and are somewhat uncomfortable to reach and click. Outside of that, I absolutely love my Spawn and have finally found the perfect mouse for me. :)
Hope you enjoy your new mouse! If not, send it to me! I would love to have a spare to carry around. :)
EDIT: That mouse picture was huge. Made it an attachment instead.

I'd totally buy it for that price.
Unfortunately, the spawn shows as $29,99 on both newegg and amazon. Was this a lightning deal?

Makes me consider buying another CM Spawn just for backup since it's the perfect mouse for my small hands. I've been using my Spawn since it first came out, never looked back.

There is a $10 rebate.

Ha. I paid like $70 when I purchased internationally a year ago.... only had it a few months before I raged and broke it. ;)

just ordered a spawn from amazon with free shipping, great deal, not many left!
-
Picked up the Xornet a few days ago, it's very small and a little too light for my tastes, I'll probably return it to Amazon once the Spawn comes in. If I don't care for either, well, that's the beauty of Amazon -- free return shipping, no restocking fees.

How is it free return shipping and no restocking fees? I though it was $5 to print the prepaid label, unless you call or chat with a Customer Rep and give a BS excuse to return it.

Never had to? Hmm.

Here's the dimensions of the Spawn box:
9 5/8" x 6 2/8" x 2 6/8"
Don't know weight.

I just got mine, need some adjusting with the ring finger rest and the left side buttons (not enough profile, too flush with the casing), otherwise pretty smooth.
it almost feels like floating on my glass mouse pad :)

Just ordered from newegg. Still trying to find my favorite mouse.
free 3 day from newegg is faster than amazons free shipping :-)
-
hmm ordered sunday, came thursday, not to shabby ;)

I have to say that the way my hand feels on the CM storm is great. Unfortunately, I've become used to higher end Logitech mice with adjustable weights, and this mouse is just too light for my taste. Definitely a great buy for the price though, and I just use it for travel with my laptop anyway.
-
Just got this mouse. It does feel comfortable, but the DPI is not high enough for me. I'm too use to my super sensitive mouse. Can't have anything lower than 6500 DPI.
-
Gonna get rid of mine. Is there any mouse out there that feels like this CM spawn but has a higher DPI?
