the new cases are the vortex ones.
the vortex ones are a different design but will be easy to buy since they are mass producing them. it's what we're all gonna end up buying.
there's a chance imsto might be able to make another run of the originals as well but who knows.
if i can get my hands on one of the cases for a week or two my buddy can recreate it in solidworks so i can get another batch made myself.
not yet, vortex said there will be a group buy for them when they are ready. he specifically said we will have a group buy for them and i think the pure keyboard
btw, they look nothing like the cases we have right now. they have a much lower profile to them and the switches are more exposed
Is it only for the pure?? and not for the race??
Just checked out the facebook page. Definitely a different look on this new case. Still should help in making the board more solid though.

Yes it does, so is vortex favoring the pure?
I wish vortex would quit marketing their facebook page and products and just make all this stuff available to us.
i know these are hard to come by but if you have one for sale PM me please. Thanks.
Umm... good luck because you're going to need lots of it. You might as well PM the owners individually since only a handful was made.
It looks pretty skimpy
Wondering if it will weigh as much as this?Man that thing is a tank lol 4 pounds. Is that anodized? It looks painted in that pic.Show Image(http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc467/jpm804/Keyboard%20Stuff/DPP_0137.jpg)
After adding the case this keyboard is solid.... I do like the new vortex design since its simple but sure glad I have this one also since I would at this stage choose this design over the new possibly coming out.
What's the thickness of these cases? Or what thickness would people want them might be a better question. No particular reason why I'm asking... or is there?
Someone get this man some cad mockups of this thing!
You might have seen that I was going to be making a Filco metal case in the group buy subforum, but Vortex is making a full CNC'd one whereas I was just planning to make a top half. So instead I think I'm just going to make poker cases, because those are easier for me to make and a lot of people were kind of iffy about Vortex's new poker cases compared to these old ones. I'm going to my friend's metalworking shop this Thursday and I've already taken most measurements of my own plastic poker case. Probably going to make the CAD file today.

Nice! I'd also be awesome if you could look into making cases for the upcoming KBT Race (84 keys...layout very similar to the Noppoo), they'd killers with their LEDs and alu case ;)
Are you planning on selling them here? Any idea on a price range? Will it just be silver aluminum or colored?
Hope it happens, I'm interested in one.
Can I have your red one?
But anyways, back to my question, how thick is the case of the existing ones, like from the top down view the width of the outer edge. And if I can get that measure, would people want it even thicker or is that about right? To the eye it looks good to me but I know people love their heavy cases so I could make it a bit bigger maybe. If you're thinking about getting a poker case CNC'ed, then you should try to get your Filco TKL aluminum case finished first haha. A lot of people are looking out for that thread. :whip:
*looks around for a non-metric ruler* Something between 3/16 of an inch and 5/16 of an inch seems about right, maybe 1/4 (4/16) of an inch seems good.

You, pics! Now!
He said vortex is coming with a better alternative.
Oneproduct, I'll get you measurements tonight.
