Title: realforce colored keycap sets?
Post by: Namkung on Mon, 20 February 2012, 12:30:37: when you go to EK's site right now you can see some blank colored keycaps for topre switches.
it says at the bottom "realforce colored keycap set" although that disappears after a few seconds.
they are no where to be found .. YET on their site. maybe they will go on sale sometime soon? o.O

Incorrect. If someone wants to sell me their blank red modifiers, please let me know. 11/12 sets hurts my brain. Why didn't I buy them when EK had them?!

Not really an accurate comparison IMO. I'm all for custom keycaps, but these are just crazy expensive since they are rare. I would consider these analogous to a snowboard that costs twice as much as the competition because it's the only board that fits a certain pair of bindings.

Quick question, why do you have 6 HHKBs? Are they on different computers or do you swap them on the same?

The keycaps aren't priced at a functional level. They're $110 because they're rare, and collector's items.

I purchased last week an artist proof and some limited Alan Lee prints signed by him so I shouldn't get those sets even if I want to collect them all. Buy them so I don't have to :cool:

But I don't receive any email to telling me that my order is confirmed. I used to order stuffes from EK and usually it would send me a confirmation email as soon as I make the payment. I don't know why this time there's no confirmation email, I only got an email from paypal saying that I've sent a payment to EK.

Does anyone else have this issue? Or just me? The printed green sets are sold out already. :( Hopefully they did receive my order.:smash:

Yes i ordered on Wednesday and just got my email this afternoon. I could only imagine how busy they are when stuff like this comes in.

Very rarely. This is the third batch on EK, no guarantee they will restock. Grab whatever you can.

Doesn't have a Leopold logo on it any more and instead says 'Topre Corporation' and has a bar code. However, the label is glued on top of another label on all three of my boxes, so the old Leopold one might still be under it.

Also, the model numbers have changed. Used to be that the printed sets were XF0100KT#1 through #5 and the blank ones were #6 - #10. Now the blank ones are #1N - #5N, or at least I think they are, I only have blank yellow #4N. If anybody got other old blank colors, care to check your labels? Of course, all the logic breaks down for the new lime green sets, so they are #11 and #11N.

Of course, this doesn't mean anything. The caps are still exactly the same.

Post by: Kisakuku on Fri, 24 February 2012, 23:42:17: Leopold's anniversary 87Us are mostly Hangul, they only have English in variable. IOMania is completely out of English ones. They are pretty limited alright.

The lime green sets haven't shown up in any of the usual places, so they are definitely pretty new. You won't find them cheaper than on EK though, and restocking might or might not happen.

Anyway, the main lesson of GH is to err on the side of buying.
